ClearHorizon Miniatures Releases the Raven and Sparrowhawk Attack VTOLs

Each Raven-Class Medium Attack VTOL comes with a hollow interior to allow for multiple modeling options (including a closed or open ramp that can be positioned without gluing to allow for multiple options) along with several type of weapons including miniguns, Anti-Tank missiles and rocket pods. It also includes the option to attach landing gear.

The Sparrowhawk-Class Light Attack VTOL comes with separate engine nacelles and "benches" on each side to allow for troops to ride quickly into battle. Under the nose is a twin-linked high-velocity laser cannon.

You are so much the lord of presentation.

The Raven is so cool.

Top notch!

Helps when you've got thirdfate painting your stuff!

Think I'm going to get a couple of Ravens later, when funds allow again. They're a nice not-quite-Aliens Dropship.

Beutiful!

Thanks guys, and yes, Thirdfatecreations is phenomenal.

I've probably missed a post somewhere – but what kind of sizes are these chaps?
They look awesome!

Ben.

Thanks!

I don't have the measurements on me, but here is a picture with two "standard" size 15mm figures:

My Ravens arrived yesterday and I am VERY impressed. Clean casting, one piece main body and all in all just a beautiful vehicle.

Well done.

Now on to the Dark Star thread because those also arrived yesterday.

A glut of great stuff out or nearly out!

What is the round dome thing that the Raven comes with? Some kind of FLIR pod?

Because the floor of the raven is fairly thin, the round dome is a support structure to allow you to attach a flight stand.

Of course, you could use it as a FLIR pod if you like!

Ah, since I put the landing gear on I hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

grommet3703 Apr 2014 8:24 p.m. PST

Good to know.

I intend to attach a flight stand.

Will it withstand drilling, to attach an Omni-Stand mount, or should I just attach a magnet, and use the "acorn nut/fake gimbal" magnet?

Or should I just glue it to a Litko stand?

Decisions, decisions…

I use magnets… but good luck with all those options!

grin

Just remember, you can always fill it with superglue, or hey, it's underneath so don't worry about it!

John Treadaway04 Apr 2014 2:20 a.m. PST

Ahhhh Mr Harold – now I understand what the dome was for….

The dimensions (as I've just measured them) are 130mm long for the Raven and 90mm long for the Sparrow Hawk.

And very nice they are too.
