Had a great day yesterday running an IHMN participation game at the Plymouth wargames show. The Return of the League of a Extraordinary Gentlemen went down really well and made quite a few converts. The scenario was to rescue Prof. Cavor from the clutches of Moriarty who was getting Cavor to create something horrendous, the Cavorite gun! Moriarty and the proffessor were protected by some local thugs and two squads of Sturm-Truppen with a prototype Kliene-Panzerkampfwagon I. I'm happy to report that the a Professor was rescued in each game but Moriarty escaped with a prototype Cavorite pistol on more than one occasion
Here's some pictures from the day- The field of battle
The LXG entered via the ford in the river. The LXG
Moriarty, Cavor and some of the Sturm-Truppen
Moriarty in his Kelly armour with the prototype Cavorite pistol
A couple of thugs guarding the main entrance
The Kliene-Panzerkampwagon I
The Invisible man sneaks up on an unsuspecting guard
Quartermain makes his way through the undergrowth towards the farm
Agent Sawyer gets a guard in his sights
Nemo takes on three Sturm-Truppen in close combat
Hyde finds the proffessor and Moriarty

Never would have thought of seeing LoEG as a minis game, so cool. |

Great feel! Tis the up-close-and-personal battle, for which I most admire IHMN. Nemo walking his 'different path' right where it will be most successful. One small concern: No Madame Harker? Doug Edit: FYI, my friend decided to field Lord Curr's man, Singh, with his Nemo company. Something to consider should you decide to up the firepower. ;->= Edit, part deux: Course, Mohan did some of his best work against Bad Jack with a naked blade

Thanks chaps :) IHMN is a great set of rules for LXG games. I never included Madamme Harker as the characters needed to have a chance of being killed to add to the tension
;o) Quartermain, Nemo, the invisible man, both versions of Moriarty, the thugs and Cavor are West Wind figures, Mr Hyde is a Heroclix Red Hulk, agent Sawyer is from Foundry's Wild West range, the Sturm-Truppen are Wargames Factory sci-fi trooper bodies with Warlord Zulu war British arms and West Wind weird war heads and backpacks with florist wire for breather tubes and the Kliene Panzerkampfwagon I is from Dystopian Legions. |
