Reliefs of Armenians of c.920 AD: David and Goliath on Southeast Facade, Surb Khach (Holy Cross) Church, Aghtamar, Turkish Armenia . An Armenian Cavalryman by Ian Heath based on Goliath Samson Killing a Philistine, Northeast Facade, Surb Khach (Holy Cross) Church, Aght'amar, Turkish Armenia Warrior Saints on the Northwest Facade, Surb Khach (Holy Cross) Church, Akdamar, Turkish Armenia and probably a newer relief: A Turkic Horse Archer (perhaps 13th century Seljuk) on the East Wall, Surp Haç (Holy Cross) Church, Aktamar, Van Province, Turkey

Excellent , I have always thought that the Armenian Goliath is a good representation of Byzantine style. Interestinly he is also like a carved representation of Seljuk troops and thus might represent a Turkic style. Roy |
