Pulse of battle is the new wargames rules by Brent Oman/Piquet, Inc., based upon Brent Field of battle rules for Horse and Musket warfare, obviously with many changes. The scenario (adapted from Glenn Pruitt's excwellent scenario book, "Hannibal ad Portas"): link Battle Report, Part 1: link Battle Report, Part 2 – Conclusion: link
I will do a formal review of the rules later this month Peter |

Good report, looks like the figures got a good workout. Nice the Mini-figs got out of the shoe-boxes for a couple of days! |

Yep, they definitely got to stretch their legs! Actually, only about half the figures are venerable Minifigs. The Roman I, II, and III Legion are Old Glory, as are 2/3 of the Gauls; half of the Slingers, Scutari, and Libyans are ? Grenadier figures (from as way back_). Like most Piquet/Field of Battle type games, playing the second half solo was fun, not as much as having Barry playing as Sempronius, but still very tense and entertaining. Hopefully that comes out in the battle report, as well as a feel for how the rules flow. |
