Well, there are a bunch of things I'm having trouble understanding
Do turrets roll their full dice against each ordnance marker/attack craft separately, or do they get only one roll for the whole turn? (If only one roll, I'm not sure why combining into waves is good. I do understand that you can't roll against both ordnance and attack craft in a single turn.) Can carriers launch an unlimited number of attack craft during the game? (So that there's no need to track kills.) Do you need to designate the exact mix of squadrons carried by each carrier before the game? (If you do, then you have to track which squadron type "lands" on each carrier, don't you???) Are Eldar torpedoes slower than their ships most of the time? Are Eldar attack craft slower than their ships most of the (meaning that they can only move in the Ordnance Phase, not in both phases)? |

Good Day I am assuming this is about Battlefeelt gothic. If not I apologise. They roll for each wave. Yes they can lunch unlimited except if they fail the reload ordnance test (which applies to flights as well) No, that is designated by the type of ship. Squadrons do not land on carriers All ordnance (flights or torpedoes) only move in the ordnance phase. |

1. If you attack with one wave, the turrets get ONE shot at them. If you attack in multiple waves with fewer craft then the turrets get to fire at every wave. The advantage with multiple waves is that if any enemy ships shoot at a wave one hit will destroy the entire thing. If you have a big group it can do a lot of damage if it gets there but one lucky six can wipe the entire thing out. (Page 30, last paragraph) 2. Carriers have to roll for Reload Ordnance after each launch, and if they roll doubles then they are out of attack craft for the rest of the game. Same with torpedoes. So yes, no need to track kills of fighters and bombers. 3. No. You declare what you are launching when you send the craft on their way. (Page 29, 2nd paragraph) 4. Yes. Unlike all other fleets the Eldar can make a move in the Movement Phase, fire, and then move again in the Ordnance Phase. These moves can each be 10, 20, or 30cm depending on where the sun is located on the board. Their Ordnance moves either 30 or 20cm so their ships move faster most of the time. 5. Same a above. And ALL Ordinance moves ONLY in the Ordinance Phase. Eldar stuff is no different, just their ships. Hope that helps! Jerry |

Thanks for the answers! I know that some of this seemed dumb, but I've struggled a bit with what's supposed to be a simple rule set :) |

There are no dumb questions! It's also easier to suss this stuff out if you are playing with a bunch of other guys who can weigh in. But having a resource like TMP makes it very easy to clarify things, so why not?! |

Remember though, when turrets fire at a "wave" of say 4 attack craft then 2 hits take out two craft from the wave and the other two make their attack run. If a ship fires it batteries/lances at a "wave" of 4 attack craft as they pass by, then you only hit on a "6" but one hit will destroy the entire wave. Tom |

There is an alternate rule that was published in one of the annuals and later made official in an FAQ. The new rule is that you can have as many attack craft waves on the board as you have AC bays and you don't have to roll to reload. You still don't have to track casualties, just make sure you don't have more AC out than you have bays. |

And don't forget that elder only get a second move in their own ordinance phase while torpedoes and attack craft move in both players ordinance phases so the elder won't outrun their torpedoes. Robert |

asa1066--Thanks for the link! Very useful. Toaster--Ah ha! That makes much more sense. It also makes torpedoes and bombers even more frightening. |
