I sell the chinese clones of Hing Fat clones (ironic, in a sense, as Hing Fat cloned and pirated Marx, Airfix and Timpo) at our stores, but they are small. Well detailed, but 45mm versions of the classic Marx etc figs. (the Toysmith and Billy V Imex bagged kids toys)

I heard that Hing Fat versions are superior plastic, and true 54mm scale like the guys they pirated.

Anyone know? I need more Japanese for my BMC Iwo Jima playset (with Marx and Airfix figures added in). But they must be 54mm.

Amazon has true Hing Fat Japanese, (38 figs for 8 bucks) but questions to people who purchesed them about size were inconclusive.

One fellow answered "They range in height from 5/16 of an ince to 2 and 1/8 inch" :O Did he actually measure the height of a prone figure?????

Thanks

Hey, Bart! I have the bucket of Hing Fat WWII figures tucked away somewhere. It included various nations' armies, Japanese included. I recall using them alongside my Marx and Airfix forces for more poses and some otherwise unaccounted for weapons. My recollection says they were slightly shorter than Airfix, but not horribly so. I can only surmise the 5/16" tall guy was in fact a prone figure. If height is an issue, you can always mount those figures on slightly thicker bases.

Ken is right. They are slightly shorter (~50 or 52mm), which is fine given that they are Japanese. If I remember right, they are predominantly copies of Atlantic Japanese with some copies of Airfix Japanese in the mix.

They're definitely larger than 45mm.

Cool! Tahnks. Just remember, there are other brands of those 200 pc buckets, that are cloned from Hing Fat, and ARE 40-45mm.

Beware, and make sure you only get Chinese copies from a legitimate Chinese company, like Hing Fat!

Always wanted a "Burma" playset, with Japanese, US Army and Marines, Air Force, Australians, Merrill's Marauders, headhunters, Ghurkas, Brits and Indians.

Very cool mix of units, and colorful characters.

Thank God Airfix re-issued their 54mm WWII line!

BTW, Jackie Coogan (Uncle Fester) fought in that campaign. Looking for a 54mm Addams Family figures set sol i can have Fester on the battlefield! :)

HG Toys made a Burma Road playset back in the 1980s. It had recast Airfix Japanese in a nice charcoal gray color.
