I need to make half a dozen rifle slings for 25mm figures. any suggestion of suitable material/technique – preferably with something ordinary that is likely to be within 20 yards of where I am now? Thanks Doug |

Lead foil is one great way to do it. You just cut little strips into the right shape and size and put them in place. |

Strips of heavy paper (like colored construction paper) dipped in a solution of water and white glue (like Elmer's). |

Why not just thick piece of paper? After gluing just apply white glue for strength. |

Cut a bit of Sellotape about 2inch and another piece !stick them together and squeeze out any air bubbles and make sure they are well sealed. Then cut strips to required length little super glue blob should hold them in place well. I have also used it for bow strings and green stuff bedroll/ stowage tie backs for 28 mm . |

Wonderful – I had a total blank on this but you have all shown me the light. I'll probably go the paper route but tinfoil is also a hot contender as is Sellotape. The leather jacket or purse – not so attractive. Thanks all. Doug |

Tomato puree tube metal rolled out is that bit thicker and more rigid than tin foil. I use it for flags and reins for chariots
