In 28mm who makes the best and dynamic figs for early medival armies of King Stephen and Empfess Maud

Curteys Miniatures are currently working on taking the existing 13th century figure range, and doing a series of new plug in separate heads for both earlier and later knight options.

Black Tree Design have a 2nd Crusade range which might be suitable.

I can second Black Tree, I just finished painting a unit of them for an early feudal army. Great figures with a lot of personality, no flash and good active poses.

The majority of the Perry Crusaders will also be suitable for the mid twelfth century.

As an aside, this period is high medieval, early medieval is what is also called the Dark Ages :-)
