Does anyone have any info on what the flag would used by the Massachusetts militia in that rebellion of 1786-1787 would have looked like? If so, can you post a link to it. |

No idea, but considering the proximity to the revolution I would imagine any Mass. militia flag would not be too out of place. |

That website has some great artifacts from the rebellion and from the era. They have a flag remnant that was from the Mass militia that fought the Regulators. Its a red 8 pointed star on a white field. No idea of what pattern these stars would be in, though. The Regulators prob. carried liberty flags that we often associate with the early Rev period- not unlike the Whiskey Rebels. "Liberty and No Tax Courts" or something of that type. link |
