Since my armada is starting to grow. I'm looking around for something to carry them in. At least something better than what I've been using (and cheap). 8) |

Cheap and good – Snap Lock tool boxes, $7 USD at K-Mart. Fiiled the cart with boxes, then went to the sporting goods aisle and got a $20 USD dufflebag that they fit in. Blog entry here: link I need to do an updated entry on this sometime too. More recently, I've also added various foam lining and inserts to protect the ships as I've been adding weights to the bottoms of the bases, and have had to re-adjust my card storage with the ever expanding fleets

Because of limited storage space in my office/man cave, I started out with a decorative storage box from Target's "Threshold" line (about 12x12x12 in.). Originally I kept the ships in there original packaging, but that was a pain to unload and repack every time we played. Now I use two 3600 series Plano Pro-Latch Utility Storage Boxes, one deep (for X-wings, Y-wings and B-wings) and one not (mostly TIEs and A-Wings), and a third generic box I found at Michael's. I got the kind with the removable dividers, and small enough to fit in my decorative box. Be forewarned that you need to compare the boxes to the minis for fit— some of the fixed compartment boxes don't have large enough spaces for the ships. The ones I got did have large enough compartments for both the Lambda shuttle and the Slave 1, but due to its size, the Falcon I keep in the original plastic packaging (I tossed the box). I kept two of the core set boxes as is for the templates and such, as they weren't cumbersome to use. But now that I've got two more boxed sets, I'm going to have to get more Plano sets so I don't overflow my main box. |

I don't play the game, but the Plano boxes have been my best friend for MechWarrior, Heroclix, Spanish Main, and so on. I use the Bass Pro Shop brand, which is cheaper and just as good. They often run sales on them. I get them at the I-Drive store. They have tons of storage containers and boxes in different sizes and depths for fishing and hunting. |

I bought one of the later BattleFoam cases and inserts. I love it since I can carry everything safely in one bag. |

I keep the fighters in the central part of the original packing and put them in a box file. Simples. |

Since all the canon ships have been made, I ordered some custom Battlefoam trays to hold my "two of everything" collection. |

I wonder if they will do any Clone Wars era stuff? I admit I'd like some ARC fighters. Also some Z-95 headhunters. I use a big deep tray tackle box for the fighters. Still pondering what to use for the Rebel a transport 2x Falcons, and the Imperial Corvette. |

Wow .. You folks are awesome as usual. Thanks for the pix miniMo. Nice to see how they fix in the box. I actually have something very similar to that for all for screws/nuts/bolt. I'll see what I can find find out there in cheap'o land. Any other great ideas out there? 8) |

I have both the K-mart box and the Plano box. One for Rebels and one for Imperials and all the counters. Plano also makes a double sided version of this lock jaw box. Just Google X-Wing storage and you'll get some good hits. I like to keep my ships on the bases and ready to go, which is why I discarded the boxes they came in. |

Finally settled for the Bulldog hardware organizer. I was able to fit everyone of my ships in it's own space. It also had two larger spaces for my shuttle and falcon. Found it at Wally world for 12 bucks. link 8) |

Careful handling those snapware stacks — they are known to have critical failures! |

Thanks for the warning miniMo. I plan on carrying them in either a sports duffel or Rubbermaid/Sterilite storage tub, for added safety. |
