I've done a search and not found anything useful, I wonder if any of the good TMPers have a link or information on standard, or better still a source to buy a set (can't find this unit on GMB or Maverick).

Cheers

James

Are the Dragoni Napoleone a unit from the Kingdom of Italy? If so there is some information here: link

Thanks, yes I found that thread too, unfortunately it only covers the Italian guard dragoons. The Napoleone regiment served in Spain and then Germany in 1813. It was an Italian unit, but not part of the Royal Guard.

Cheers,

James

Unless I've got confused I think it does cover the line regiments as well. This is taken from the 4th entry on the page:

"As for the Cavalry the Dragoons carried one Standard per Squadron and also a larger regimental Standard (Called Napoleone). These was modelled on the 1808 Line Infantry pattern, the Squadron Standards was 60cm square and the Napoleone 80cm square. The Napoleone of the Napoleone Dragoons har survived and shows on the central Globe the inscription NAPOLEONE / IMPERATORE DE FRANCESI / RE D*ITALIA / AL REGGIMENTO / DRAGONI / NAPOLEONE. The Scrolls above the Eagel bears the inscription VALORE E DISCIPLINA and the one below NEL TUO NOME VITTORIOS = Victorious in thy name. In each Corner is a N within a wreath all gold. The Squadron Standards where similar bu with a gloden fringe.

The Squadron Standard of the 4th Sqn of the Queen's Dragoon Regiment has survived and had the inscription reads NAPOLEONE / IMPERATORE DE FRANCESI / RE D*ITALIA / AL REGGto DE DRAGONI / DELLA REGINA and below on a Scroll 40 SQUADRONE. The Reverse showed a fivepointed Star above the Coat of Arms.

In 1813 new standards was presented they omitted the blue globe. Two exeamples of these have surrived those of the 2nd Sqn of the Napoleone Dragoons had on the obverse the inscription DRAGONI NAPOLEONE / 2o SQUAne on the revese it showed in the corners crowned N in gold."
