Often you come across wargames-related products you like. Sometimes you come across one you really like. But very occasionally you find one you really, really like. And that's what I've just found with 4Ground's new Japanese shogunate houses. If there is ever a competition for the best wargames terrain product for 2013, I'd say these two kitset buildings would have to be amongst the top contenders. I've posted a detailed review with plenty of photos on my blog: link But for a taster, just take a look at these two pictures I took this morning, showing them assembled straight out of the box:

Arteis: But very occasionally you find one you really, really like. Oh my, I see what you mean! Is that "thatch" part of the kits "out of the box" or something you did yourself? I somehow missed these it if they were noted in Hobby News here. I have a couple of other 4Ground and planned to try out many more. These are high on the list now. Many thanks for the enlightenment. Cheers, |

The thatch is out-of-the-box. These photos, plus the other pics on my blog, depict the two models made exactly as they came.

Those look amazing. I have a pile of L5R Clan Wars figures that nobody ever seems to want to trade/buy, so I may throw another $60 USD – $70 USD at them to get some terrain and actually game with them. |

These look fantastic. I can see why you like them. I might be able to trade you for some BigNickR. I am based in the UK though. I dont want to highjack Arteis's thread so I will just leave the link to my lead adventure trade thread here. Feel free to PM me over there if I have anything you are after. link |

Thanks I have a 4G Western town but didn't know these were even in the product line. I must be working too much again. My order will be placed today. DM |

That's built straight out of the box?!? Dang! Too bad they don't make more in 15mm, but I might be persuaded to acquire a couple buildings in 28mm for RP and Infinity use

Wow! The thatch really sets it apart. I like the interior detail and I'm particularly impressed by how they managed to disguise the joins. If only they were available in 15mm

Those do look good. I'm not sure I'd even bother to do any supplemental painting. |

I was on a kickstarter for a ton of Japanese mythos creatures and Samurai. I have about 250 28mm painted Samurai already. These will be a very nice addition! I have an old Village Green Samurai Mansion in resin. I much prefer the lighter weight stuff! |

Oh, they're really nice, pre-painted as well, nice one. |

Here is some info about 4ground,they allso mentioned that they might do a castle. William Currently as you know, we are making buildings for a lowland village. We also have plans to make a highland village and a river delta village (think stilts). The lowland and highland collection will also include houses for their local rural samurai. |

I hope they will do these in 15mm |
