Good day to all, I rely on you to find a wargame that can be played on this table:

link

of only 90x55 cm.

Would fit any historical period (I had thought of Mordheim or song of blades and heroes in 15mm)
I would not go below 15mm.
Any idea?
Thank you very much

The Red Baron17 Jan 2014 4:38 a.m. PST

Ronin by Osprey plays easily on 2ft*2ft table, if Samurai etc floats your boat, as would almost any small skirmish game(Legends of the Old West eg)

yorkie o117 Jan 2014 4:52 a.m. PST

How about Dux Bellorum, based up on 40mm frontages using 15mm, Im sure that would work fine.

Or SAGA, using 15mm figs would work too I reckon.

Mr Elmo17 Jan 2014 4:59 a.m. PST

DBA of course.

Martin Rapier17 Jan 2014 5:11 a.m. PST

DBA as above.

Command & Colours and anything grid based (Square Bashing etc), just use smaller grids.

Most things can be adjusted to smaller table sizes by just playing smaller games and/or reducing base sizes and measurements.

MajorB17 Jan 2014 5:14 a.m. PST

What Mr. Rapier said.

Dynaman878917 Jan 2014 5:24 a.m. PST

Chain of Command or Bolt Action. Instead of inch measurements use half inch, rules are written for 28mm so half size figs can use half size measures.

You could do the same with Force on Force.

Henrix17 Jan 2014 5:25 a.m. PST

Bushido is normally played on a 60x60 board. 55x60 would work perfectly fine.
bushido-thegame.com

Ambush Alley's games (Force on Force or Tomorrow's War) would fit well, at least in 15mm.

combatpainter Fezian17 Jan 2014 5:36 a.m. PST

Memoir '44, BattleCry

TiberiusAugustus17 Jan 2014 5:39 a.m. PST

DBA, any game by TwoHourWargames would work.

doctorphalanx17 Jan 2014 5:42 a.m. PST

Crossfire, Irregular Wars, DBA.

macedon17 Jan 2014 5:58 a.m. PST

Generally Force on Force scenarios can be played on 2 foot by 2 foot table which is 60cm by 60cm.

Only Warlock17 Jan 2014 6:02 a.m. PST

SOBH in 15mm for Fantasy and Flying Lead in 15mm for moderns or Sci fi.

Mako1117 Jan 2014 6:06 a.m. PST

A shame, since 1/300th scale microarmor tank battles are fun, as are 1/600th scale air battles.

Pictors Studio17 Jan 2014 6:24 a.m. PST

Infinity would work on that table with a bunch of terrain.

Also you could probably play small games of Dropzone Commander.

cpt shandy17 Jan 2014 6:38 a.m. PST

I do SAGA in 15mm and scale down the distances by one third, which is easy with any rules that use measuring sticks:
link

I guess you could even save more space downscaling SOBH in this way.

algoles17 Jan 2014 6:52 a.m. PST

SAGA seems to me very interesting, especially in 15mm.
I would like that the table could be used to more games, saga and Sobh (of which I have the manual) sounds very good.
According to you it is possible to play on this table, some wargame, on the period ofecw or french indian wars or pirate theme?
thank very much for all the tips you gave me right now!!!!

Caesar17 Jan 2014 7:19 a.m. PST

Skirmish game with good amounts of terrain. Smaller scale of miniatures with reduced ranges.
Rattrap Productions games are designed with two foot square tables in mind.

Inkpaduta17 Jan 2014 7:22 a.m. PST

Incursion, a weird war game, would work

Cherno17 Jan 2014 7:23 a.m. PST

You could get a 50x60cm (2' x 2') slab of wood and just put it on your table as your gaming surface. It will give clear borders, protect the table's surface, and if you want you could even make a terrain board from it (although I like using different felt mats instead). 15mm skirmish games or 10mm games of any kind could easily be played on a surface space like this. I really like 10mm and seeing as the range is only growing more and more it would be fun to do a skirmish game in 10mm, or a dungeon crawl, or sci-fi… moderns… anything goes :) What needs a 4x4 table for 28mm just needs less than half (quarter, actually) of that for 10mm. If you really don't want to go too small, 15mm is an excellent scale for anything smaller than batallion-size engagements.

Deserter17 Jan 2014 7:30 a.m. PST

Song of Blades and Heroes, Song of Drums and Shakos, and all the other skirmish games from Ganesha… and Crossfire WW2. I would advice also Mighty Armies and Might Armies Ancients as an alternative to HOTT/DBA.

Steve W17 Jan 2014 7:31 a.m. PST

You could play Basic Impetus and Baroque if you altered the base sizes

Tony5817 Jan 2014 7:44 a.m. PST

Have a look at what 'TheTabletopGamer' does on Youtube.

Also, Panzer8 rules sets!

whitphoto17 Jan 2014 8:06 a.m. PST

I've been playing Ogre with my kids. One of the major appeals to me was I can easily fit the boards on my kit hen table and my 2x4 fold up tables.

Martin Rapier17 Jan 2014 8:19 a.m. PST

To continue in a vein, DBN, Horse, Foot & Guns, HOTT, in fact any DBx clone.

2x2 Napoleonics, Leipzig Lite.

I have played quite large operational games in a small area, for 15s if you use 3cm = 1 km and battalion bases you can fit multiple WW2 corps on a 2x2, and smaller divisional sized actions e.g. Siege of Bastogen are easily manageable.

The 1956 British Army Wargame (aimed at division/corp sized WW3 late WW2) lends itself well to smaller tables, being grid based.

I did the entire 1967 Six Day War on a 2 x 3, albeit with brigade bases.

Really, your imagination is the only limit.

In addition to skirmish games, you could also play gladiator games.

jdeleonardis17 Jan 2014 8:35 a.m. PST

You said 'Wont go below 15mm'. Have you ever seen Pendraken's 10mm stuff? Just a thought…

yorkie o117 Jan 2014 8:56 a.m. PST

I used to have a small gaming area in my cellar, with only room for a small coffee table, I made a small gaming table out of an old notice board. I stuck felt to the back to protect the table.

I found that I could play pretty much and game on it, scaled down appropriately.

Rezolution and Dark Age, for sci fi. Both are supposed to be on 4'x4' tables, but both are intensely fun with small forces and plenty of terrain.

And while DBA has been mentioned once or twice, I would be remiss in not suggesting Hordes of the Things, DBA's streamlined multi-genre sister game.

MajorB17 Jan 2014 9:30 a.m. PST

In addition to skirmish games, you could also play gladiator games.

Aren't gladiator games also skirmish games?

Brian Smaller17 Jan 2014 10:32 a.m. PST

Yes, but with more flexing.

Don't forget Irregular Wars, Conflict at World's End. It can be played on a 2ft x 2ft table using very small armies.

This TMP thread had lots of good ideas for 2'x2' table games:

TMP link

I had a list of ancient rules I had tested on 2'x2'. As you can go wider, Basic impetus will work fine, as will Intro Armati and Fast Warrior, the latter two designed for 90cmx60cm.

There is also this Lead Adventure thread that lists a lot of 2'x2' rules as well:

link

The fairly complete list is (I think) on page 3 of the thread.

Dave Crowell18 Jan 2014 8:32 a.m. PST

Mighty Armies and Red Ops 5 both from Rebel Minis will play well on small tables.

Also Gloire and .45 Adventures from Rat trap

@ 90cm x 50cm? Ewan Hoosami, how tall are you? :)

Pretty much all the INLGames stuff is designed to play on a 3'x4' (or smaller) table at 28mm and a 15"x20" board (which fits nicely in an attaché case) at 15mm.

daler240D17 Jan 2015 3:03 p.m. PST

2x2 Napoleonics.

Dave Crowell21 Jan 2015 9:42 a.m. PST

Most of the Two Hour War-games sets will work just fine on this size table.

The Perfect Captain offer a number of small scale battle rules that would work well, just pick your period, and they are free!

If you use smaller bases and scale down movement and ranges, say by using cm instead of inches, many games will play on a smaller table. I do this a lot.

Great War Ace21 Jan 2015 9:58 a.m. PST

I advocate using centimeters in the place of inches as well. The base sizes seem to be immaterial, imho….
