28mm scale. I have been looking but not finding. The closest thing I have found is the Perry Carlist non-uniformed militia of which I already have two battalions painted as Spanish militia. Cheers Brian Pic from Military Dress of the Peninsular War (Windrow and Embleton)

Uniform is not standard (the drawing provided was just a conjecture). Ordenaca wore what they could get. I think the militia figs would do fine. These were drafted peasantry often armed with pikes. |

I was hoping to paint something other than the Perry figs, nice as they are. |

Here's another picture of Ordenança.
The guy on the left is an Ordenança officer, the middle from an artillery company, the one on the right a regular Joaquin. There are all sorts of uniforms of other, more regular, militia units in the book as well, you might consider borrowing someone's copy. As to figures, these Spanish from Front Rank might work:
I suspect that Orinoco Minis, with their interest in Spanish and South American subjects, might produce something that works, if not now then in the future. orinoco-miniatures.com |

Thanks – I did like the irregular nature of the illustration above, but if necessary I may go along the Front Rank lines with a more uniformed look. I think Eagle do similar militia figures which may work as well. |

I see I screwed up my description of the cover of the Osprey book – the guy in the middle is the officer, the guy on the left the gunner. |
