With Conquest Games Norman cavalry and infantry sets having been out for a while, I thought it would be interesting to hear what sort of forces people have been assembling of these. Besides Normans, these could probably be used for Bretons, other Frankish forces, crusaders, western mercenaries in Byzantium, and probably a good variety of other 11th or early 12th century forces.

Also, what other miniatures have you been using to complement this range?

They complement my collection of Gripping Beast Normans and will be serving in the Mediterranean theatre.

I bought two boxes initially, dedicating one to just Normans and the rest to conversions. I am still working through some conversions, but so far I have turned them into Saxon and Rus axemen, Andalusians, and archers. Currently, I am making some Varangians by adding Gribbing Beast Dark Age heads and cloaks to the bodies.

I made up some some Normans and did a head swap and made up some Vikings.

Great set.

Those Andalusian conversions are a great idea!

On another note, has anybody experience on mixing these with Perry crusaders?

That is a great Spanish army, I am in the process of doing the same with the same manufacturer's, now I know they will look good when I am done.

Those Spaniards also look nice (and require less work than their Andalusian neighbours).

Has anybody gone for the glory of Italo-Normans (and their various subjects) with these figures?

1066- The CG Normans vs the GB made into Anglo-Danes. I guess I wasn't all that original. But stealing an idea from Paul of Pauls Bods, all of my shields are orange, cream, and white.
