Sure, they're purty, but can they fight? grin

Beautiful! Now I have to get some!

On a minor note, who said the Grenzers are bad guys

…how do you know that I wasn't referring to the two casualties face down in the mud? evil grin

I see these sorts of displays and think "That is it! I am packing up my paints and quitting this hobby". Just awesome mate.

Brian: don't quit! I have been collecting the buildings and terrain for years, and I've been painting the Mindens for nearly 5 years. Slow and steady wins the race. I have found that the more I paint, the better and faster I get. grin

Your comment does remind me though of how I kicked my addiction to the Pac Man game. One night at about 11PM, I was at the mall getting my jones taken care of and watched another gamer rack up a gawdawful amount of points in the game. I said to myself, "I could never even get close to that", and I quit, never to play another game of Pac Man again.

Brian Smaller14 Jan 2014 1:36 p.m. PST

I won't really quit – it was just a turn of phrase. I love the hobby too much. I have aspirational goals but also a good dose of realism when it comes to my painting ability!

Marvelous, Alte Fritz. I especially like the first photo.

Jim, I never could get past the 3rd Gold Key on that game. Saw kids that had patterns for the upper levels that were just mind numbing. Getting millions of points on Pacman would definitely get me to quite back in the day. I moved on to Donkey Kong and shoot em up games like 1943. Those were the days though. When gameplay was more important than the best graphics.

Regarding Minden, I want to chime in again at how amazingly happy I am that you have picked up the line. While this scale isn't king here, I think the quality of these and F&D figures make me believe if I buy them, they will come :-) Plus being able to proxy back and forth with the AWI, really makes this a no brainer. Since both periods aren't very popular these days in my neck of the woods, I plan on buying them. I think it will be easier for my younglings to paint a larger well proportioned figure too. Thanks for the inspiration :-)

Bloody lovely, Fritz. It's good to see someone else do von Dierke- for some reason this regiment has been developing a good battlefield reputation in my games.

Cheers.

Dal..

Beautiful. Just what proper gentlemen like Grant and Young would have done.

Most of the buildings and fences were made by Herb Gundt. Ed Phillips made the field bakery. Herb also made the large tree stands.
