My oldest gave birth last Friday to my newest Granddaughter Ayla Marie. Both Mom and baby are doing well. They both came home Sunday.

While Ayla was being brought into the world, my wife and I watched our Grandsons Westin and Kylor. While 4 year old Kylor kept our house safe from fire and crooks

his 7 year old brother Westin got his first taste of Grandpas hobby of wargaming. I found some old plastic FASA Mechs in the basement. I called Mrwigglesworth and my friend Kevin. They brought their sons over and we sat down to teach and to paint a Mech each.

We then proceeded to play a game using simple rules I made up the night before. How did it go? This should answer your question

We played Sons vs. Dads….and the Sons brought it to their Old Men. A great time was had by all…especially by Westin when he shot his Grandpa in the back and destroyed my cockpit…..frown

The final score Sons: 1 Mech destroyed, Dads: 1 Mech destroyed, 2 Mechs with pilots that ejected. The day and the battlefield belonged to the young'ns!

More pictures of the festivities can be found here:

The best part, when we were done, all the kids want to play again. grin

What a GREAT weekend!

That one brought a smile to my face. In the day and age of video games and instant gratification, you've managed to get them interested in painting and playing. Well done sir!

Very cool!

But I have to say, Spider-Fireman is the stuff of nightmares. That is one creepy image.

Now that, I say THAT, is the way to introduce youngsters to this hobby.

Well done Sir. You've helped create treasured memories for your families.

Na…he wears the mask because real Firemen wear masks so they can breath in the smoke.

Besides…Spider-Fireman also does carpets!! grin
