Nice model. Maybe for Victorian SF games too?

"Here are some images of Italeri's Leonardo da Vinci's Paddle Boat based on his drawings. This kit was originally an educational model designed to be built quickly… that is until I got a hold of it. With a bit of paint and some weathering, some wood planking, thread, cleats and a barrel it makes for quite an acceptable display piece."

Nice!!

I'm confused about what powers the paddlewheels, though.

Leonardo's designs, I believe, used wooden gears and cogs, but your paint change to weathered metal really looks good.

The last time I was in Hobby Lobby, they had a few sets of Leonardo models.

^^^ Same here; no idea how they would scale out though.

I just looked at two at our local Hobby Town USA. If I were into Victorian Sc-Fi I would have one or two of these strange machines with my troops.

What scale, would love something like this as my camp centerpiece for my FOG Italian Condotta army :-)

I've used all of these for my various Weird Wars through the Ages games. Most scale well with 28mm and would probably work OK with smaller scales

I have the boat, but, native out of the package, I despaired of ever using it. Mr. Zoell's work is magnificent.

The last time I was in Hobby Lobby, they had a few sets of Leonardo models.

And yet, never the armored car, the most exciting item in the set to my eyes, from when I first saw it mentioned here and on LAF years ago.

I've looked at Hobby Lobbys including Lincoln, Omaha, KC, and Columbia MO. Nice spread of the heartland. *sniff*

The catapult and submarine are new to me. I did find the Edu Toys of Hong Kong site, with catalogs, but I assume they work wholesale only.

Edit: Have also discovered the VSF'ers secret weapon, ;->= , American Science and Surplus has SOME of the kits. C&S sales has all fifteen, still looking…
