My friends and I developed a small (c.700 point) Flames of War scenario. It is focused on the fight at Buchholz Station during the first morning of the Battle of the Bulge. We have playtested it a couple of times and it was a good time. I wanted to share it to a wider audience to see if it was interest to other folks. You can find it on my blog here: link Feedback is definitely welcome! Thanks, Kevin |

Cool
I'm always looking for another historical scenario. Any chance you could post a photo or two here to get a better sense of the board layout? |

This would make a great demo/intro game. I agree a better map/photos would help push a great procuct event further. Did you use the ASL Scenario for Buchholz to help design this? Cheers, VB |

No, I used a few books as my source, although I do have both the SL and ASL versions of the scenario. I used Google Maps for the terrain, which does seem to be similar to that present in the real battle. I will update the scenario with a real map image. I do have a prototype image on my home computer. Thanks for the feedback! I have a few more scenarios in the hopper that deal with related actions. The idea is to from small, infantry only (Buchholz Station) to a bit larger with vehicular support (Losheimergraber Crossroads) to a lot larger with all sorts of vehicles (Krinkelt-Rocherath). We'll see how it goes. :) |

Here is a shot of the board layout. goo.gl/Tb8RTk The view is facing west, more or less. In one replay, the Germans kind of blundered into the village and got shot up by an American ambush in the north (centered on the blue building at the edge of the map). One of the platoons broke after a turn or two of fire, and the other had already taken some casualties, so we decided to call it. In the second replay, the Germans sent two platoons through the central woods and the the third racing through the woods on the east edge. The groups managed to assault at about the same time, one group pushing the Americans out of the central buildings and the other causing some casualties in the blue building to the north. The American reinforcements weren't able to retake the central victory location, resulting in a German win. |

Thanks for the pic -- very helpful. We'll give this scenario a shot sometime soon at Metropolitan Wargamers in Brooklyn and give some more feedback

I updated the blog post to include a graphic instead of an ascii map. It should make it easier to understand the table layout. |

Awesome. I've got this pretty much laid out and ready to go -- hopefully this weekend. I may have to modify the German list a bit since I don't have the Sturm platoons filled with panzerfauats and the American list since I only have one AT gun
