You make me feel like giving up wargaming because I cannot produce anything remotely like that. frown

D A THB05 Jan 2014 2:35 p.m. PST

Its painting and collections like yours that make me want to give up on 28mm and restart with 20mm models. Great stuff.

I think you nailed the shade of color, the dust/wear effects, and the overall look. Perfect! (no comment on bases).

Are those British A13 Cruisers? How many of those did they capture? And why would they use them in Russia?

Lion in the Stars05 Jan 2014 8:27 p.m. PST

Looking good, Piers!

Just in time to start work on the Afrika Korps, Desert Rats, and Italians, right?

combatpainter Fezian05 Jan 2014 10:03 p.m. PST

Now that's a serious amount of vehicles, and even more impressive for being painted grey! I hate painting grey! Except when it comes to Rebs

Very nice work ! Interesting to see the A-13s … they weren't that great a performer for the UK … but the Germans never wasted anything … I'm getting old … remember seeing the Panzer between the A-13 and the Assault Gun … what is it ? old fart And ID the Assualt Gun for me too … old fart Like seeing someone you have not seen for a long time … but forgot their name and who they were related to ! old fart

Rich Bliss06 Jan 2014 8:59 a.m. PST

So they used 2 A13 as FlammPanzer. And you've got both of them. Cool.

Legion 4. I believe that the Panzer I. Question is a Flamingo (FlammPanzer II). The assault gun is a Sig 33, I believe.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP06 Jan 2014 9:10 a.m. PST

The Sig 33 is next to the standard Panzer IIs, IIRC … And yes you maybe correct, that may be a FlammPanzer II between the A-13s and Assault Gun ? I think the Assault Gun is a StuIG 33B link … And yes, that is a FlammPanzer II – achtungpanzer.com/flam.htm

donlowry06 Jan 2014 10:26 a.m. PST

Nice and dirty! Very nice!

PiersBrand06 Jan 2014 12:02 p.m. PST

Rich,

They had nine of the A13s in Panzer Abteilung 100 (f).

All nine were lost in the first three weeks of Barbarossa.

So I only have two of them… and yes, they are cool.

Ben Avery06 Jan 2014 2:00 p.m. PST

Hmmm, I was just contemplating putting pics of my recently completed early war Germans up before i base them but I can't compete with that lot. Fantastic

Chazw106 Jan 2014 2:17 p.m. PST

very inspiring! And the rust….Wow!
Did you use the new washes from plastic soldier company?

PiersBrand06 Jan 2014 4:22 p.m. PST

Yup, new PSC rust liquid is superb…

Lion in the Stars06 Jan 2014 4:47 p.m. PST

BEF and Poles first before a dalliance to North Africa…
Works for me!

Neroon06 Jan 2014 7:18 p.m. PST

Very nice indeed! I especially like the big Famo. Where did you find that?

cheers

PiersBrand07 Jan 2014 4:18 a.m. PST

The 'FAMO' is the Revell kit with the Black Dog resin upgrade pack.

Expensive but really looks the part.

Chazw107 Jan 2014 10:52 a.m. PST

Now I am very tempted to try those washes out!

Elenderil07 Jan 2014 4:44 p.m. PST

Very nice when can we expect the Blitzkreig rules?

PiersBrand07 Jan 2014 5:39 p.m. PST
