I need to make some canopies/shelter for a 15mm camp. What material would be recommended for modelling and painting cloth/canvas at that scale please? Any suggestions much appreciated; I am UK based. |

If you have the basic frame work completed, then use a water & white glue mix and spray on tissue paper over the frame. You'll get the natural drap and once hardened, easily to paint. I have eveven tried thin paper towels too. P. |

A better brand of paper towel here in the USA is called Viva. Smooth finish and a bit thicker and stronger than the norm, almost clothlike. Shop Towel brand would work too. I think the problem with linen is that the threads might be a bit large? Maybe the local fabric shop has something even finer? |

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. Time to experiment with kitchen towel and tissue paper to see which works best. |

I made lean-to tents with cardboard and toothpicks, washed it over with watery PVA glue and covered the cardboard with tissue, gives a very nice textured look and sets very hard. Phil |
