Is there anyone in the Uk ideally in Southern England who can build me a central asian fort or part of, I am seeking something for the Russian taking of Tashkent.

Thanks,

Shipka

I also have an interest in the Russian conquest of Central Asia. I know it's a broad generalization, but, to me, the Central Asian fortifications look like slightly more ornate versions of Afghan ones. There was a thread about Afghan Hill forts in this board recently. Perhaps it can give you some leads.

I think this might be the one Nick was referring to…

They might do now to find someone to build one for me

I've done a lot of research on the topic and I'll second what Nick said.

They're not "hill forts" like the links above show. I made one a few years back and a photo of it graces the cover of my Guide to Askari Artillery, on the home page (at right) askari-minis.com

They tend to have massively tall crenelated walls with lots of round towers. When I figure out how to make good round towers, I will make a Central Asian fort to go with all out figures.

Last year I made a Chinese version. The towers are square.

Hi Al,

Can you share photos of your Chinese fort when you get a chance? As you know, I need to build one for Tuyen Quang.

Mike at Blastwall is really good and very reasonable
