Was it my feverished imagination or did not Brigade Games make a couple of figures on this theme (although I know there are multiple permutations as to how you spell the wee timorous…)???

I have been searching their site but alas and alack to no avail.

Any help gratefully received…

And Happy New Whatevers…

Do you mean the Beast itself or characters from the movie Brotherhood of Wolves?

Chokidar Inactive Member01 Jan 2014 12:58 p.m. PST

Hi Pijlie.
I was thinking of the characters.. especially a young lady in hunting fig – although I will happily accept THAT one I might have dreamt…

Westwind in their Gothic horror ranges and Black Cat Bases might have what you are looking for. BCB has the hunter in tricorne and long coat for sure.

Helldorado makes a good Beast. Got the steel fangs and all.

I think that it's Laughing Monk who I remember doing some suitable figures – tricornes, long coats, martial arts poses, etc. Shadowforge might be the company to go to for them?

Brigade Games indeed *did* a small 'Characters of Gevaudan' set -in relation with the 'Gloire' rules IIRC, but they appear to be OOP. No young lady in riding habit, then. Such appear in the old Tradition / Willie range, and Minden Miniatures have a riding lady in tricorne.

Laughing Monk (now sold by Eureka) indeed offers a handful of 'emphatically NOT Brotherhood of the Wolf' miniatures link
'The Scarlet Woman' = Sylvia

'Miss Delina' = Marianne de Morangias (in hunting gear)

but I'm afraid they are closer to 35mm.
The same for Fenryll 'Chasseur de sorcière' link

Some 'armed civilian' figures of F&IW could be suitable, e.g. from Galloping Major link

picture

(an 'armed' Catholic priest would have a black collar edged white).
Don't forget Outpost Wargame Service 'Highwaymen' link
Foundry also have some.
Several Black Scorpion 'rogues and pirates' are also suitable, some even in long coat with raised collar:

Magificent Egos (male) Pilgrim and (female) Pilgrim reincarnate also look (looked?) the part for such adventures

picture

With their two-handed sword they specially look (looked?) like 'monster hunters' of the Witcher type link

Enigma miniatures link Catherine does have a 18th C. 'look'

(image from link -but nothing compels you to paint her with metallic greaves).

Some Privateer Press Arcane Tempest Gun Mages -those without steampunk goggles- despite their '40K' shoulder pads, with a little goodwill can be used as 18th C. SWAT

What can I say? Sometimes one despairs of TMP for the apparently pointless and carping threads, sometimes, and I admit it with due humility, one is tempted to a waspish comment, but what a wonderful, wonderful site it is, and what a great bunch you are. A huge thank you to you all for your helpful, useful and intelligent suggestions and Abdul.. to you.. well simply wow… that is more like a thesis than an answer!
Thank you everyone, all power to you and TMP and a happy gaming 2014
Kind regards
C

Found an image of the OOP Brigade Games (Rattrap) 'Characters of Gévaudan set (the link was on TMP TMP link )

picture

Not very good, and 2 of the 3 male characters, spoiled by a '3 Musketeers' slouched hat, would require a partial conversion or headswap link to look convincingly '18th C.'

As for figurines of men ± in the iconic 'BotW' long coat and raised collar, Flying Frog offers 3 for the 'A Touch of Evil' boardgame flyingfrog.net/atouchofevil
Heinrich

Scarlet Shadow

Argot

(Painted by link )
But while the 1st is part of a set available separately link the other 'Heroes sets' include gaming cards link (now, the game is easily transposed from a boardgame to a table-top game with miniatures link ).
picture

Btw if 'Heinrich' is a tolerable proxy for Le Scorpion link Katarina offers only a very, very subdued image of Ansea Latal

As for a more 'spectacular' Beast than a 'mere' direwolf, there are indeed several interesting possibilities, some quite close the 'Beast' on BotW: link

On the other hand almost 'historical' La Bête du Gévaudan games are reported on a few French gaming blogs:
