I gathered up my newly semi-completed dungeon and my son and four nephews and gave DMing a shot. We played a mixture of SoBH and ToBH and had a blast. See the full story on my blog barts-toys.blogspot.com A teaser pic or two

Nice, get them while they're young. Great way to bond |

Very nice scenario, set up and report. It sounds like the players might be learning something about the dangers of a\acting too impulsively
never a bad thing for teenage boys! :-) |

Nice, simple layout, simple plot and simple rules. Ideal for an introductory game and the crucial thing is, you finished the quest and the questers seemed to enjoy it. I'm toying with basic D&D and a simple scenario for my ten year old son, you have given me some good ideas. |

Sounds like great fun, and that's a super dungeon set-up you've got there. Doug |

Thanks, Doug! It's been a good while in the works, but I think the end result is pretty good. So far its a 12 room modular dungeon with about 15 different hallway sections. There is a lava room that isn't pictured at all
it will have various inserts to represent lava, acid, water etc. I have whole list of inserts and decor that my son and I have dreamed up that I've got to build to liven up the basic "square room" style. Among the inserts on the list are a prison, a wizard's study, an alchemist lab, and an armory. |

Inspiring! We REALLY need to start using up those two boxes of Merlin's Magic in the garage with all of those Hirst Arts molds we've got. Doug |

Great stuff. I remember my first RPG experiences with badly scribbled graph paper and a handful of figures from HeroQuest. Kids these days are spoiled! :P |
