Did I do this right? I've never really painted Napoleonics before, but based on my research the 38th Austrian Regiment would have rose facings and yellow buttons. With the Shako I assumed this was the 1806 uniform some time before the regiment was disbanded in 1809 (so I've read). Front Rank Miniatures [URL=http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/198/y83d.JPG/]

Great looking paint job. :) The 1806 Shako was issued to "Hungarian" units first. By the time of the 1809 campaign many "German" units were still wearing helmets. Those lovely figure could easily represent a lot of other post 1809 units. :) I'm sure somebody will come by and correct me though. |

Aw shuck's fellas. I was just following the advice that the TMP boards gave for Austrian infantry. Base: Vallejo Neutral Grey 70992 Mid: Vallejo Deck Tan 70986 Top: Vallejo Pale Sand 70.837 Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up for the rest of the regiment. These were just the test pieces. |

very nice brush work – I like the difference in the whites of the cloth and the equipment belts |

I'll second that! A very nice contrast between the white belts and the sandy, off white of the uniform jacket and pants. Well done. |

Thank you. The equipment belts are: Foundry Arctic Grey 33A Foundry Arctic Grey 33B Foundry White 33C Foundry sometimes gets a bad rap around here, but their pants are wonderful and the color progression for the 3 coat system are beautiful. Would one of you be able to tell me what color the officer's sash should be? I can't seem to find any information on it. |

Very nice work! These figures are wearing the 1809 issue Shako. Officers sash is silver with black threads through it, pretty difficult to paint. I just dry brushed silver on the sash. |

Thank you wrgmr1 and excellent find, von Winterfeldt! Would that sash have been the same for a Grenz officer as well? (I have some Grenz up next on the block) |

Nice plated from Mollo – bear in mind that the helmet for artillery was never realized and was a porject only. Sash :yellow and black – for staff officers made of silk ( so I was wrong with gold and black) gold and black only for generals as bluewillow pointe out above |
