Hi, I have a copy of Yellow Ribbon. Will this work for Old West: Apaches vs. US Cavalry fighting?

Thanks,
Blake

Yellow Ribbon is an excellent set of rules but concentrates on the Plains indian style of warfare with Counting Coup etc I think you would be better off with something else for the Apache conflicts although sorry to say, nothing springs to mind.

You should have no problem just get the stats right and it will run like a dream. The Apache shared the Plains Peoples aversion to casualties and their focus on good medicine and that's well catered for with Yellow Ribbon.

Its worth noting that Yellow Ribbon originaly was released with a supporting group of figures that included Plains Indians, US Cavalry and infantry and Apaches.

Oh Bleeped text, wasn't that the Frontier range? I know the Minifigs range of 15mm Westerns were made for "Pony Wars…(Or B Troop ain't coming back)". Just a look thru them and the range and all the "Dandys" are there.

In any case, Musket Miniatures has supplied me with my western 15mm buildings and accessories! Good Lubk, Blake, with your project! It will be fun!

wasn't that the Frontier range?

Could be Dye but I'm sure it was Freikorps in the UK if my memory serves me and it's as leaky as a Swiss Cheese these days: link

But could have been Tabletop themselves: 15mm.co.uk/Pony_Wars.htm.

Cheers
Mark

Yeah it was Freikorp now produced by QRF.

Happy New Year!

Can you use multi based figs for this -2 or 3 to a base?
These get ggod reviews -where can I get them from in the UK??

I always have a really monstrous pang of regret whenever someone mentions Frontier. Whoever has the molds secreted away needs to be, well, roasted until bringing them forth (speaking strictly in period terms, of course). Miss those figures.

Frontier are now being cast again according to Rudy (frequent poster here) who plans on sorting and selling them.

mashrewba02 May 2014 1:15 p.m. PST

Did Frontier have some 25mm FPW stuff?

Early morning writer02 May 2014 4:50 p.m. PST

John, hope that is true. There are a number of things in those ranges I'd be interested in. I'm going to have to dig up one of my old Frontier catalogs.

Not going to get to hopeful, though. Heard this a few times before and it all game to naught.

Rudy runs a store and actually has purchased the figs. He has been around for decades. I have zero doubt that he is telling us the truth. grin he's anxious to start selling them.

Thanks,

John
