I know I read this some ware maybe even on here but i'll ask anyway. The French battalions that came over in 1755 came in a campaign uniform that was different than the units in europe from what I have read.Could someone tell me the difference.

If you look in Kronoskaf – Project SYW, more precisely in the article on the French Army ( link ) and then browse the articles of each regiment who sent a battalion to Canada, you'll find both uniforms depicted: the uniform provided by the Navy and the standard uniform. Keep in mind that the uniform initially provided by the Navy was probably replaced by the standard uniforms as soon as the troops received a new set of uniform ( most probably the following year… )

If you look into La Reine, 24, in Kronoskaf, you will see that the regiment officially has red cuffs, blue vest. The second battalion was sent to Canada, and had red vest, red cuffs. That appears to be the only difference. Frankly, If I were doing La Reine, all would have the blue vest!

I just went through Kronoskaf for other French regiments serving in Canada. There really seems to be little difference, especially for 18mm down to 6mm.

Lanquedoc: blue vest and cuffs, yellow metal and hat trim. Both uniforms. no difference?
La Sarre: red vest, blue cuffs, yellow metal and trim. Both uniforms. Nice contrast of colors.
Royal Roussillon: both blue vest and cuffs, but also collar. Yellow metal and trim.
Guyenne: red vest, cuffs, yellow metal and trim, both.
Bearn: Canadian uniform is not shown. Red vest and cuffs, yellow metal and trim.

Yes very minor changes.Bourgogne,Bearn had tricornes laced with silver,no cockades on tricornes. The first 5 battalions that came across are the ones that had any changes, the ones above and Artois,Languedoc and Guyenne (which doesn;t seem to have any changes at all).
