link I've always wanted to do games in Victorian London but the terrain requirements put me off. Stoelzel's Structures has come to the rescue. Looks great. On sale as well. Three light levels, day, dusk and night.

Buildings with night light: I think that's brilliant. |

I've been wanting to do urban Victoriana for quite a long time, but I've never settled on how I'm going to accomplish it. This might be a good start. I'd like to add more dimensional details though. |

Thank you guys for the kind words. These are currently 25% at Wargame Vault as part of their winter offensive sale. Hope you enjoy. Bloodydrake from the westwind forum had put some nice pics of his builds where you can see a nice close up, and thought I would share. link -Carl |

Can hardly wait to see, Dr.! Cutting out doors, windows, and the like, put on cardstock, and recessing them slightly seems like a project even someone like I might try. Thank you for your purchase Curufea, I do hope you enjoy. |

Can these be built as straight cardstock buildings without the necessity of foamcore backing? Alan |
Curufea | 03 Jan 2014 11:13 p.m. PST |
Looking at the PDF, yes. They're straight textures without paper model folding or tabs. Print out the sides you want, glue to card, cut out and then glue the card together. |

I have been pleased with the results when I have printed these type of buildings onto A4 sticker sheets and stuck them onto foamboard. I've looked at these particular buildings before so I may get them in the sale. |

Just looking at the Old Towne buildings in the link -these don't appear to be in the sale. |

Hrm
might get a set of those in the 'night' colors, and scale down to 15mm. |

I bought the PDF. Printing a few pieces, we'll see how it goes. The images look really nice. |

Thanks for all this. Victorian Gaming (in many guises) is my main new thing this year, and these should be just the job. |

Just building my first of these having bought the pdf a few days ago (starting simple & small
) Printed very nicely, looking good so far. Now for the rabbits/rabbets/whatever & we'll be flying Thanks Shaun for flagging this up, had been wondering how to sort a table out for IHMN I'm thinking of the warehouse as next to get – it seems to look as if it will do for late 19th cent scifi too. My problem with this product is that it's all in a couple large PDFs – I can't send the file off to a print on demand site and just get a few pages printed – they do the whole document. |
Lion in the Stars | 23 Jan 2014 7:54 p.m. PST |
@Curufea: Get the program called CutePDF. It's essentially a printer driver (it installs as one), and you can use that to 'print' a page or range of pages to a PDF file. Even from a file that was PDF to start with. It's free, too! |

I downloaded the Old Towne building set yesterday and made my first building – a similar house to the one shown in the pictures above. My first thought is that it's huge. The door is 40mm high, and as there's a small step below the door, the top of the door is actually 47mm above the ground level. This seems too big for 28mm scale figures. You can see this in the photo above – the figures are on thick bases and are wearing hats yet they don't come near the top of the door. I'm going to try printing them out at a reduced size. I'll probably try 80% and see how this looks. If it seems OK at this level it will save a lot of printer ink and foamboard, so I'll get a lot more building for the money. |
Curufea | 29 Jan 2014 3:28 p.m. PST |
@Lion in the Stars Thanks! I'll do that. @Marshal Mark The photo looks okay to me. But I have now got some 4Ground townhouses, so will have to check their sizes in comparison |
Marshal Mark | 23 Feb 2014 4:53 a.m. PST |
After building one at full size I tried some different reductions and settled on 85% as looking best IMO for 28mm figures. Here are some photos to show the comparison. Full size building (with Westwind gypsies):
85% building (with Westwind gypsies):

You're right! The 85% does look far more in-scale with the minis! |
arabianknight | 24 Feb 2014 5:04 a.m. PST |
I agree with the 85% looking better scale. Thanks for that – I only hope I can remember for that when I print out
|
Fireboot | 25 Dec 2014 4:33 p.m. PST |
Hi guys, the reson for the print size issue may well be that the PDFs are based on american letter size paper and it is a tad smaller than A4 printing at 95% should put it back at 'as drawn" size |
TheBeast | 26 Dec 2014 4:50 a.m. PST |
Just to be clear, A4 is taller, but skinnier. Worth mentioning lest led astray on other projects. Doug |
