As I posted a while back Risk is doing Daleks and on my blog I have a picture showing the relative sizes of the Daleks with my old white metal 15mm Daleks that I have that were produced back in the 19802 for a demonstration wargame at a show. link Now for those that need, or want 15mm Daleks you can fulfill your dream of having an army of your own. |

well, the incredible and unbelievableness of this took a little while to sink in but to quote "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy"!!!! 315 Dalek pieces ! Worth buying two games, one just for the figures. One idea SWMBObeyed will think is a good one. But sad news about two being the Dalek Paradigm. Many many thanks for posting. |

40 pounds British sterling for a Risk boardgame? Hmmm. Seems a bit steep but I do know a certain Whovarian who would want it. |

"Ding dong", wish I had know about this before Crimbo. Time to look at the New Year budget & see if I can somehow scrape this in |

Hmmm,15mm Daleks, eh? Anyone thought of using Daleks in Flames of War? Bit of a Victory of The Daleks job? Anyone dreamt up any rules? |

Someone would actually buy Risk for the game? Have you not played it before? It's second only in unworkable mechanics to the roll&move of Monopoly and Snakes&Ladders
I'm biased though – I like boardgames invented this century :) Very tempted to get this though for the Doctor Who Miniatures Game |

I've bought Risk for the game some 20 years ago. Tried it but preferred Shogun ( which would still would be my 1st preference). My son loves LotR Risk Trilogy edition. I have also enjoyed Toy Story Snakes & Ladders but have had to juzz it up with Zurg's Bots as HK's. We have Transformers Risk but I honestly would not be able to stay awake to play it. My friend has 7YW risk. |

Original Risk is still a great game. Used to organize games at uni where you each put in $10 USD, winner takes all. We'd take out all the mission cards except for the kill other player ones, cash deathmatch fun. |

WOW, that's a great idea for a game. The links are also great – much to look at and admire. Thanks guys. |

Doctor, splendid stuff, those Daleks look ace! Where did you get the minis? What stats did you use? |
CommanderCarnage | 28 Dec 2013 11:49 a.m. PST |
Where can get you get a copy? |
Huscarle | 28 Dec 2013 11:59 a.m. PST |
Commander Carnage, it looks like it is an exclusive to Forbidden Planet bookshops, even though it's a Hasbro game. link |

At Doctor
Are those Daleks still available or what? |
Gokiburi | 28 Dec 2013 2:11 p.m. PST |
Roughly how many Daleks could one swipe for "real" gaming, while still leaving the boardgame playable? (although playablility of Risk is questionable to begin with) If it wasn't an exclusive then we'd (possibly) be able to order the armies as replacement parts from Hasbro; and that would be far too nice, so we can't be having that. |

Yes Doctor, your 15mm Daleks look marvellous. Were would a person be able to get an army's worth? |

Hi guys thanx for comments, the Daleks are what were called mobile phone spinners. Encased in a little see through dome and attached to a chain thingy that would fit on your phone, when the phone goes off the dalek spins. They also did the new type Cyberman which I have lots of as well. The Dalek Flying platform was made by myself with washers and nuts. I also have a Cyberman Blimp and Dalek Saucer. Unfortunately I don't know if you can still get them – I got most of mine from play.com and ebay for around £1.99 GBP to £2.99 GBP which i didn't think too bad as they are already painted and easy removed from the case. As for stats my FOW guru buddy took care of all that. We have had some good games especially when all 3 sides are all fighting each other i.e. Cybermen vs Daleks vs UNIT |

I consider Risk a good time with the right people; have to be able to say 'time to get off this roller coaster'. Any chrome tends to improve, and I've always considered, aside from Broadsides and Boarding Parties, the Gamemaster series Risk with Chrome. The chrome on this one sounds light, but still interested. $60 USD range is daunting, but the masses, the MASSES! ;->= Doug |
