A playtest of my own rewrite of the classic now up on my blog.

The pics are a bit hard to see because I did screen shots from a high zoom. A couple of the units are selected in the shots and the highlight is bright red.

Cool!

A set of rules I have heard a lot about but do not own and have not seen. From my reading about it, and your battle report, they do seem fun and fast. Your report has peaked my interest, although I seem to remember prices these days for the rules are high!

John,
Wasn't Chainmail written for singly based figures? Man do I wish I still had my copy.

Where can one get a copy of these revamped rules?

I'll have them posted to my blog in a couple of weeks. I am working on some changes right now and don't want to keep reposting them when I make changes.

It was. You can use multiple figure bases and mark casualties. The pictures are not clear enough to see the numbers marking the hits on the unit. You could also play with large elements like impetus and just declare that an element is worth so many figures. then use a roster or markers to denote casualties.

Brilliant! Thank you.

You will let us know when you post the rules?

But of course! Have I been known to ever shut-up about anything? grin

I had a fairly slow day at work so I got accomplished a lot of re-writes of the two sections in question. I just need to read through one more time over the weekend. Maybe Sunday I can get them on the web.
