Hi, I thought I'd share my forays into the Dark Ages and a start for a Saga Warband.

Originally bought a box of Wargames Factory Saxon Thegns to get a cheap start, but wasn't exactly thrilled about the quality and I didn't really like the way Anglo-Saxons played either. Now I've gotten myself the 4pt Norse-Gael starter and painted some up to have a full 6pt warband when combined with the Saxon minis.

The shields are all freehand for now, but I already ordered some Battleflag decals and I'll use them at least for the Norse Gael in the future. Not so sure if I'm gonna do the same for the Saxons as I'm not that fond of the minis and will probably replace them when I have enough of other brands to play with.

Some more pictures on my blog along with some other random projects.

Any comments or tips for improvement are really welcome!

Nice paint jobs, really like your Norse Gaels. I know what you mean about the Wargames factory figures, bought some of them too, they are really hard to get posed so they look natural. It can be done, but takes a lot of trial and error. I have a set of Norse Gaels that are calling out to me to be painted. My next project is going to be my Welch.
