Excellent idea. One suggestion, if I may. Use the unsharpened edge of an xacto blade and create some vertical and diagonal grooves. That, along with a couple of coats of white glue, will minimize the layered look a little. Dan link |

Reducing the layered look could be useful, but the layers also provide different levels for figures to occupy. I don't think a slightly "gamey" looking gaming table is bad if playability improves as a result :) |
