Kickstarter going on, with many stretch goals for free extra colors already reached. Pretty cheap to try some new kind of dice. Theory is that there is better rolling and balance, feels better in your hand, less chance of cheating. link |

I never realized there was a need for such a thing! |

Sorry, but I don't get it. I mean that I understand why backers would toss ten bucks in the pool just for the novelty, but I simply don't see they need. |

I agree it will provide better short-term distributions, most likely, unless the players are in the habit of rolling their dice well. I think I can make do with my D12s though. |

He's raised $40 USD grand for stylish dice! What am I missing here? |

What am I missing here? I don't get it either. D6s roll just fine. Couple that with a dice tower and they work just as well as a D12/D6. I guess folks just want the novelty. It couldn't be that they didn't stop to think about it. *shrug* |

It seems like I've only just awakened from the terrible nightmare that was double-numbered d10's, and now THIS? Madness, I tell you! |

though I DO like the "4d6 Dice" reward level! |

I was thinking something like this already existed. |

Thanks for the news. It seems a bit weird but I can understand the impulse, I think ordinary d6s are a bit clunky and d12s would roll better. And if you don't like Kickstarters, don't understand why someone would pay for this, or think it's madness: no-one's twisting your arm to put any money in. Simples. |

I am definitely not the market for this. for one thing I never saw the need for D8 or D12. I always thought that the rules and charts came after the availability. I also do not see any need for a "D6" that "rolls better". The Lou Zocchi YouTube video where he bemoans losing your wizard due to a D20 that did not roll true always cracked me up. I use my D20 all the time, but only for The Sword and the Flame, and that is only because I like the "new" firing charts better. I would have to really look hard to find my D12. In fact, after I loaded up on D12 at a convention, I cannot remember ever using them. I guess I am not a dice geek. |

The Lou Zocchi YouTube video where he bemoans losing your wizard due to a D20 that did not roll true always cracked me up. I do recall crappy d20s in the 70s that would wear out until all you had was a numbered marble! (played a lot of D&D back then). Still never had a problem with a d6 rolling badly, just use a tower or tray to keep the dice off the terrain and figs. |

Hey I've got my own dice :) |
Formerly Regiment Games | 17 Dec 2013 1:57 p.m. PST |
On the bulk order you will get 72 dice for $25. USD If you don't already have dice (unlikely here, I know), this would be one way to get a bunch. Base order = 50 ivory for $25 USD +10 free red +10 free black + 2 free Kickstarter green with black pips limited edition As was said, nobody is making you. Just letting folks know. There is some lively discussion over there on how to balance the pips: sixes opposite, or opposites = 7? |

I need d12s numbered 1-6 twice like I need the 37 sided die that Chessex developed for the Norwegian Lottery. Still not sure why Norway needed a 37 sided die for their lottery but there was a box of a couple hundred leftovers in the Chessex warehouse when I worked there. |

i have a d-12 numbered 1-4 thrice because i can never really "roll" that triangular thing. never had a problem rolling d6's, unless you count the seemingly statically impossible amount of 1 and 2's i roll. |
