I just put in a request this evening for the Ventauran trooper wielding a laser pistol in both hands to be added to Eureka Miniatures 300 Club. I hope that you will all agree with me that the Ventauran's need another sub leader type miniature to better complete the range, a single figure should not be to complicated or expensive to get produced so if this single miniature is considered i hope you all chime in and support its production,

picture

Ok Nic has E-Mailed me and posted the Ventauran figure up in the 300 club on the Eureka miniature site or follow this link, link all you need to do is add it to your shopping basket and order as many of this miniature as you would like to buy if it went into production, obviously the quicker you order and 600 miniature are requested it will get made, please add as many as you can to your basket to support this miniature and tell as many friends and gamers as you know to chime in to get this Ventuaran and possibly others made. :) thanks zac

Mako1116 Dec 2013 1:09 a.m. PST

I'd like to see some other Ventaurans made too, including at least one prone trooper, firing a rifle.

Perhaps some running, and skirmishing action poses too.

AVAMANGO16 Dec 2013 8:26 a.m. PST

Well the more people that actually visit the Eureka Miniatures site and their 300 Club and click on the 'add to basket' for the extra Ventaran then their will be a very good chance of seeing more of them produced in other poses, so i cant stress this enough you really must do the above to see more Ventauran miniature produced for the new year… link

davebill16 Dec 2013 11:56 a.m. PST

In for 20.

David

AVAMANGO16 Dec 2013 4:27 p.m. PST

That's great to hear dave i assume that your another Ventauran fanatic wanting to take over the galaxy and your support will go along way in getting more poses made for them. Come on guys and show some festive cheer and help to support the production for more of these fantastic Sci-fi troops, every little bit of support will count. :) Zac

ordinarybass16 Dec 2013 5:10 p.m. PST

Hey, that's my Ventauran up there! Nice to see him inspiring a mini-me version. I'll take this moment to shamelessly point you to a gallery of similarly attired Ventaurans and Khiff link

Unfortunately I can't lend any support, being a 28mm fan myself, but best of luck to you all in getting more of these made.

Mako1117 Dec 2013 1:08 a.m. PST

I'm definitely on board for more poses, but just the one doesn't really excite me, and shipping would cost far more than the few minis I need in that pose.

6 – 12 more poses (including the one shown), and I'm on board for a bunch of them, since I'd like a full company of these guys are 1:1 ratio, so 120+ troops in total.

Ideas are:

1. pistol firing trooper
2. prone, firing rifle
3. crawling, with rifle
4. running, with rifle
5. throwing grenade, and holding rifle (or rifle slung over shoulder
6. trooper holding SAM, and firing upwards at aircraft/VTOL
7. casualty figures
8. mortar team
9. heavy, anti-tank rocket launcher and firing team
10. trooper skirmishing with knife, or rifle with bayonet, etc.
11. sniper
12. leader

AVAMANGO17 Dec 2013 3:05 a.m. PST

If there is enough interest their would be other Ventauran figure considered that is why the 300 club has been titled 'xtra poses of Ventaurans' Nic did mention that other miniatures would be possible if enough people joined in on this so it really is down to our community if we want to have more Ventaurans produced or not, i cant stress enough how important it is for members to go to the Eureka Miniatures site and simply click on the 'add to basket' tad for the 'xtra poses of Ventaurans' to help this cause… link

Mako1117 Dec 2013 6:46 p.m. PST

Oh, thanks for the clarification.

I thought this was just for the one pose.

AVAMANGO18 Dec 2013 4:16 a.m. PST

There are some good ideas in that list but personally I don't think that so many extra poses are needed to round out the Ventaurans, but if more poses are wanted this is what I think should be considered #2 – #6 in no particular order.

1. pistol firing trooper (character type)

2. prone trooper firing rifle (could also double as a sniper but with large scope and bipod mounted on the weapon)

3. generic trooper advancing with rifle slung and carrying ammo or medical cases in both hands

4. trooper leaning heavily forward and advancing with raised rifle

5. SAW trooper #2 in an advancing pose

6. Weapon slung wielding pistol in one hand waving troops on (sub officer )

Mako1118 Dec 2013 8:55 p.m. PST

I definitely want the:

1. prone, firing rifle (alternate sniper weapon as an option, but rifle is most desired)

2. guy running with rifle

3. mortar team (needed for platoon, and company level games)

4. heavy anti-tank missile launcher (like the Denizen Fed Troopers have), for the Ventaurans (need a good platoon and company level A/T weapon capability, in my opinion, to go up against the latest in grav armor)

5. SAW trooper advancing, as you mention, would be nice

6. aiming/firing pistol pose (can double as a leader)

7. would like to see some casualty figs, but if pressed, I can probably modify some of the other poses to make them

I can live without most of the other poses, if needed, but would like to see some of them done as well.

I'm on board for at least 60, now, and probably another 30+, as funds permit.

AVAMANGO19 Dec 2013 1:30 p.m. PST

Cool please go to the Eureka Miniatures site and their 300 Club and click on the 'add to basket' for the extra Ventaran to give your support. :) link

AVAMANGO27 Dec 2013 8:18 p.m. PST

Is there any interest in these as i kind of expected a bit more interest and more feedback…

Etranger28 Dec 2013 4:08 a.m. PST

Done my bit!

AVAMANGO01 Jan 2014 5:35 p.m. PST

Good to know Etranger many thanks, anyone else going to chime in here or am i just flogging a dead horse?

Patrick Sexton Supporting Member of TMP03 Jan 2014 11:38 a.m. PST

Done for three packs.
Thanks,
Pat

AVAMANGO03 Jan 2014 2:34 p.m. PST

Thanks Pat for your support its good to know there are a few members interested in building up the Ventauran's they really are top quality designs and sculpts in my opinion and are well worth the expansion of the range. Thanks Zac

AVAMANGO07 Jan 2014 3:26 a.m. PST

We have reached the 100+ mark so i know there is some silent interest out there, so please lets keep the momentum going and see if we can get a few more differently posed Ventaran's produced, come on guys show your support. :) thanks zac

AVAMANGO17 Jan 2014 8:09 a.m. PST

Any new interest?

Chatticus Finch17 Jan 2014 10:21 a.m. PST

Added 60 here. Always easier to get more when you live in the same country as the producer for once! :D

AVAMANGO17 Jan 2014 6:48 p.m. PST

Yup that certainly is a bonus, i am also very pleased you have joined the band wagon, there is room for plenty more if anyone else wants to jump on board…

Mako1118 Jan 2014 4:57 p.m. PST

I haven't posted to the 15mm SciFi Yahoo Group yet, so shall have to give that a try.

AVAMANGO18 Jan 2014 6:14 p.m. PST

That would be fantastic thanks Mako.

Von Trinkenessen26 Jan 2014 2:37 p.m. PST

Just added some extra ones.

AVAMANGO26 Jan 2014 3:14 p.m. PST

That's good to hear VT thank you for your support it is very much appreciated.
@ Mako11 have you had the opportunity to post over on the 15mm Sci-Fi Yahoo Group yet?

Cacique Caribe26 Jan 2014 5:53 p.m. PST

Avamango,

I love the color scheme in the pic in the initial post! Reminds me a lot of the Chig.

What does the Ventauran armor look like when viewed from the back?

Thanks,

Dan

AVAMANGO27 Jan 2014 3:39 a.m. PST

Hi Dan here is a 25mm version but it should answer your question, however on the 15mm miniatures the backpack is already modelled on to the Ventauran, i think they are very generic design and could be used for a wealth of different species including humans.

picture

Etranger27 Jan 2014 4:32 a.m. PST

Don't know if these help or not, Dan.

Golan207227 Jan 2014 9:34 a.m. PST

I use the Ventaurans for Red Faction Ultor troops.

AVAMANGO01 Feb 2014 12:49 a.m. PST

We have a long way to go especially at the currant rate that we are going so ill try to keep this post as active as i can without annoying to many of you. So who else would be interested in having a few more Ventaurans in different poses produced? if so please follow the link to Eureka Miniatures 300 Club and join in. link

Mako1101 Feb 2014 5:32 p.m. PST

Done.

A Buzzard HQ04 Feb 2014 2:54 a.m. PST

I've added 30 :-)

AVAMANGO04 Feb 2014 3:58 a.m. PST

I've added 30 :-)
That's great news your support is really needed and very much appreciated, now who wants to be next to step up to the plate. :D

AVAMANGO05 Feb 2014 8:59 p.m. PST

Ok gents this is the latest tally from Nic over at Eureka Miniatures 6 customers are interested in this venture and 170 miniatures pre ordered, but at this rate we will probably be pushing up the daisy's before anyone of us gets to see a few more differently posed Ventaurans produced. So after a brief email to Nic he said that if we could find 10 customers and get 400 pre-orders he would be happy to get four new Ventauran figures made up to round out the present range. Now i think this is very cool of Nic to offer to do this for us and we will just have to decide and pick wisely as to what 4 new Ventauran figures we want and then have a vote i guess. :D Zac

Mako1105 Feb 2014 10:00 p.m. PST

I suspect there might be a few other guys on other boards that will kick in, e.g. 15mm SciFi Yahoo Group, John Treadaway might want some when he finds out about them since I think he's a fan of the 25mm ones, Lead Adventure, FU-UK, etc.

Please help spread the word.

Yea, voting for poses sounds like a good idea, but obviously Nic, and the sculptor will have to agree as well.

My attempts to get the Feds produced too went nowhere, apparently, other than Nic listing them on the Eureka site some time ago. Which is a shame, but I guess there are now a lot of nice figure options in battle armor now, unlike a few years ago.

davebill06 Feb 2014 2:53 a.m. PST

My suggestion for the four poses:

1/ Trooper/Officer with pistol
2/ Trooper with rifle slug, carrying ammo bins
3/ Trooper leaning forward, advancing with rifle up
4/ Trooper walking with rifle across body (like 25mm SF11)

David

A Buzzard HQ06 Feb 2014 3:28 a.m. PST

Davebill's list of suggested poses would be fine with me.

As for the Feds, I had loads before I cleared out all my 25mm figures. They were my favourite range of figures. I'd love to see them in 15mm, so Mako11, perhaps in a few months when the Ventaurans are done, we could liaise about ways of generating enough support to get them done as well?

Andrew

A Buzzard HQ06 Feb 2014 4:10 a.m. PST

Just to show my commitment to the Ventauran cause, just bumped my pre-order up to 50. :-)

AVAMANGO06 Feb 2014 5:26 a.m. PST

So we really have to choose wisely to get the most out of the four new Ventauran figures that we have been offered, so below is my choice of the four new variants I would like to see made if we ever reach the goal for 10 customers and the 400 pre orders.

1st up I think a second sub commander or another NCO is needed the two handed pistol wielding Ventuaran veteran pictured at the start of this thread would be perfect if ever you want to split up a squad into two rifle teams lead by different commander type figures.

2nd I really like the idea of a motar team for platoon level games but we will not have the luxury of figures to spend on a full team so I suggest having a single new Ventuaran figure made in the same style as the 15mm Sci-fi German spotter which could then be added to the already available kneeling Ventuaran ammo loader and then you will simply need to find any 15mm mortar to create a new Ventuaran motar team.

3rd I would like to see another Ventuaran trooper added to the range but in a more dynamic running and firing from the shoulder pose because the others troopers are mostly a bit on the static side in my opinion .

4th Lastly for me would be an in game specialist figure which would be a prone Ventuaran firing his assault rifle or an alternate snipers weapon variant with big scope and you could then use the new spotter miniature to create a sniper team.

A Buzzard HQ06 Feb 2014 10:02 a.m. PST

AVAMANGO – your reasoning is sound, and is a good use of the potential four sculpts.

A prone sniper is probably the least useful figure of the four, as my gaming normally is shipboard or within structures. But, as I've done in the past with other ranges, prone snipers can be very useful for conversion to dead bodies!

I'm happy to just get four more (any four!) variants. As you kindly started this request, I'll pass my proxy vote to you to support whatever final choice you make.

Andrew

Sweet looking desert camo scheme and mobile weapon platform Von Trinkenessen, A Buzzard HQ all suggestions are very welcome so if you have any preferences or thoughts please post them up. As for my list your quite correct in pointed out i'm just trying to get the most penitential out of four miniatures and as Mako11 has stated the final say so will be Nic's and the sculptors but hopefully our input might help to sway things in our favor. Thanks zac

AVAMANGO09 Feb 2014 3:09 a.m. PST

A prone sniper is probably the least useful figure of the four, as my gaming normally is shipboard or within structures. But, as I've done in the past with other ranges, prone snipers can be very useful for conversion to dead bodies,I'm happy to just get four more (any four!) variants

Well if not a prone figure another good option made by Mako11 would be a grenade lobbing/throwing figure holding his laser rifle by his side, i would like to think that the Ventuarans have more than just explosives available to them so maybe sonic, plasma, ECM grenades or even a recon drone the size of a grenade with limited range.

A Buzzard HQ09 Feb 2014 9:29 a.m. PST

That would be a really useful figure for me, and as you say, it can be representative of so many things that open up lots more options. So yes that would be my preference over a prone figure.

After all, using a little plastic/wire modification to the weapon (longer barrel and bigger sight), the kneeling trooper with rifle raised can make a quite a convincing sniper model anyway.

AVAMANGO09 Feb 2014 5:51 p.m. PST

Ok then i have taken input from Mako11, A Buzzard HQ, davebill and myself to come up with this short list of four new Ventuaran miniatures, if you have already backed this proposal and have not yet voiced your opinion as to what preferences you want to see please do so soon or i will assume that you are all satisfied with the proposed new miniature that i have listed below.

1st Ventuaran veteran or NCO wielding a laser pistol in both hands just like the photo at the start of this thread if ever you want to split a squad into rifle teams and have them led by different command miniatures.

2nd Kneeling Ventuaran spotter like the 15mm Sci-fi German spotter already from Eureka miniatures that can be used to create a multitude of useful teams such as a mortar, sniper or even a drone recon team.

3rd Ventuaran trooper in a more dynamic running and firing from the shoulder pose because the others Ventuaran troopers in the current range are just a bit to static.

4th Ventuaran trooper lobbing or throwing a grenade or small device holding his laser rifle by his side.

Now we just need four more backers to join the cause and two hundred and thirty pre ordered miniatures to get the production cogs in motion thanks to Nic's offer making us almost half way there. :) thanks Zac

Mako1109 Feb 2014 7:37 p.m. PST

Those do sound good, though I'd love to see a prone pose too, just because.

If done with separate right arms with weapons sprue attached, the figure could be a regular rifleman, sniper, SAW gunner, or even a guy firing an antitank weapon from out of a tube launcher.

We definitely need the running pose, as well.

A Buzzard HQ10 Feb 2014 12:19 a.m. PST

AVAMANGO – 100% happy with the four you listed.

Let's hope we can find some more backers!

Well we are on 15mm Sci-fi Yahoo groups, 15mm Sci-fi Community Google + and the ever helpful Dropship Horizon, so here's hoping. This really is a fantastic opportunity to help get put into production some of the best looking 15mm Sci-fi armoured troopers produced to date…

AVAMANGO20 Feb 2014 1:51 p.m. PST

Are there any other members who want to help out and back this Ventuaran venture? i think it would be a shame not to get the few miniatures needed to help round out and complete this range, c'mon guys the Ventuaran Star Legion needs you…

flintlocklaser23 Feb 2014 9:18 p.m. PST

I just signed up for 20 of them, I still haven't got around to doing anything with the original ones but I'd love some more options when I do!
