Are Foundry Elizabethan, Old Glory FWoR, and Vendel Elizabethan figures comparable? |

Foundry figs are very small and not the perrys best work. If I were you I would wait for Warloed games to release Arsnal Miniatures very soon. |

You could take a dekko at TAG's renaissance range? link The Foundry Elizabethan range are 28mm (foot to eye) and quite nice, but Foundry Swiss etc are smaller, more like 25mm. |

What about OG and Vendel? I know the style is different, but are they about the same size? |

Just as a side comment,I'm doing this one in 15mm.I find the period interesting, but I have only got the scenario book by Ray Lucas(from OMM) and more recently Don Featherstone's Pike and Shot book. For rules its Field of Glory Ren and Maximillian! |

Vendel are bigger, I think, because they are sometimes suggested as working with various GW lines that are similar (Pirazzo, some Empire, etc.) |

I don't have any OG, but I'm sure that my Vendel Border Reivers are ok with Foundry Elizabethan. Currently waiting for TAG figures to arrive, so can't comment on those yet. Some nice Pro Gloria comparison shots here with Foundry, etc TMP link An interesting blog listing 28mm manufacturers link |

I have both Vendel and OG figures in my armies. While the sculpting styles differ, I'd say they mix fairly well. Clearly, the Vendel figures are 'rounder' and have a more smoother finish to them. The OG figures are a little thinner, especially the horses, and the occasional hat seems a little too big (like the one on the English archer figure). Other than those specifically listed as English, the OG figures are really more European in appearance than the Vendel. They would likely give you more choice in building your army. Also, the OG figures have plumes; the Vendel do not. Sorry, I can't comment on the Foundry range. Hope this helps you out and good luck! |
