The Scandinavian Federation launched a new fleet, fresh our of space dock, on a little shake-down cruise hoping to use a distant nebula to hide their maneuvers. Little did the ScanFed admiral know that a Romulan fleet of academy cadets were already on a training cruise in the same area. The ScanFed fleet.
The Romulan fleet. The Winged Defender and Birds of Prey have been redesigned since the previous battle (see SSDs below).
The Romulan commander heads straight for the ScanFed battlecruisers while the cadets promptly cloak their Stormbird cruisers along with their Bird of Prey escorts.
The first volley of Plasma bolts hit their mark causing moderate damage to all three enemy ships. The Winged Defender and Snipe proceed to cloak leaving no Romulan ships on scanners.
All Romulan ships decloak – The Romulan cruisee and frigate going head-to-head with the ScanFed battlecruisers while the Romulan cadets outflank the enemy.
The cadets transport marines onto two ScanFed ships capturing one and destroying the other.
The Romulan flagship had been hit very hard by the ScanFed fleet losing it's plasma weapon, cloaking device and FTL drive. Fearing that his flagship, and it's advanced technology, could fall into the enemy's hands, the Romulan commander orders the activation of the self-destruct device – "For the glory of Romulus!"
The following turn the ScanFed fleet suffers significant damage – two ships have ruptured power cores, one had their bridge destroyed, and another with life support failing. The ScanFed captain strikes his colors and surrenders to the Romulan cadets. |

Thats a Cool AAR, love your Romulan fleet, have to ask though where did you get those little Bop`s from? |
Whiteflames | 08 Dec 2013 1:21 p.m. PST |
Thanks. The small BoPs are from Studio Bergstrom. |

How about the NSF SSDs? I was just working on some for my fleet this morning. |

Probably from Studio Bergstrom. |

How did you calculate the point cost for the Bop's? What is the actual point cost of the Gatling Batteries? When trying to recreate the stats for the Bop's without the weapons (Gatling Batteries), I already have a point total of 58 and a TMF of 16. |

The ScanFed player used these SSDs: link For the BoPs, the Gatling is from Warload. The one arc version is 2 mass/8 pts. I hope my math isn't off. Here's the breakdown for the BoP: Item/mass/pts Hull2 2/4 Screen2 1/3 AdvDrive4 2/6 FTL 1/2 Cloak 1/10 FC1 1/4 PDS2 2/6 Gatling1 2/8 |

Great report thank you for posting. |

UrbanWarrior, looking over the rules I just realized that the Cloak has a minimum mass of 2. That will change the calculations bit. Dropping one PDS will bring the point total to 62 then (still mass 12). I missed this because the cloak is from the XD ruleset whereas everything else is being pulled from Warlords. Warlords doesn't have minimums on screens, for instance. |

This game was great to watch. The poor scan feds never had a chance. The way the BoPs worked out was really cool. good catch abt the shield differences between WL and CD. Missed that one tho Ive never put shields on ships that small. |

The battle looked twice as good in person! |

Now the Romulan High Command must make a decision: Should they hail the cadets as heroes for their great victory or execute them as traitors for letting their commander die? I kid, I kid! Great AAR. |
