I've also found warming the figures with a hair dryer helps too……not a problem for me now – I just leave 'em out in the sun for a bit……..but not too long!!

Interesting, I always satin varnish first, then matt varnish. It give a thicker protecting coat to the figure.

I posted some notes and explanation on why varnish frosts here! Its toward the bottom of the post. Worth a read.

I have spoken to a local varnish manufacturer HMG paints, about the issue. The chap from their lab helped fill me in on the issues with moisture and temperature.

I just hope it helps folks avoid some of the nightmares I had, until I found out the causes and avoidances.
