What if you work at a topless bar, is it still not safe for work?

I hate this new era of everyone empowered to be offended by something as obscure or trivial as it may be. I am offended(LOL) by this whole discussion and that we need to have it.

Its no wonder we do nothing but flame on forums anymore when no one can accept that there is humor and things out there
that are not to their liking.

I would think this board should be a release from real world stigmas, what little proposed nastiness that appears here should be overlooked for all the good coming together on a mutual hobby does.

There is plenty to be offended by in the real world. Just turn on CNN for an hour, I was going to list some of the worst, far worse than a hobby page where various appetites converge, but it may break the politico rule.

BTW PIctors great post. I wish we could like as well as stifle. I'll be expecting a few after this post ;)

Well, I am not all for naked mini's. Some I like, some I don't like, just as it is with dressed mini's.

And yes, the name is a bit juvenile and also pointing in one gender direction, but I hope you can get over that and just show us some of your painted miniatures.
Males, females and hermaphrodites, I would welcome them all.

If some of you who dislike this board would try to look at it in a different manner, you may learn something. Some of the figures have the best skin tone and shading I have ever seen. Painting flesh tones that look convincing is really tough. I've learned a lot just by trying to copy some of the skin tones on many of these figures.

She didn't say she didn't like the board!

She didn't ask to change or restrict the subject, content, or nature of the posts.

She's just asking for the NAME to be changed to something a little less ridiculous/disrespectful.

On a related note, the Pisa findings indicate a drop in reading comprehension scores in certain countries. Perhaps we're seeing that play out here.

"Bite me"and "Jerk" were aimed at the person that got my, admittedly easy to find, personal email address and threatened me.

Reading comprehension: a lost art on TMP.

Unbelievable how many posts something like this gets and not half the attention is given to a nice AAR or a well painted miniature.

Board is fine as it is. The naked form has been important in art for a very long time. And the name itself tells you what your going to get in quite a humourous way. The world doesn't need another boring acronym, thank you very much.

As somebody else has already said, if you don't like it start a poll and see if it gets you anywhere.

How about a "needs less boobies" board? It could have pictures of buttoned-up prudish Victorian miniatures.

While only a moron would assume their sense of humor speaks for all, I will nonetheless risk opining that "Need more boobies" (in a Smeagol-like hiss, I assume) is unlikely to raise much of a smile with most adult TMPers. "Cheesecake" works as it covers both nudes and glamour and does not shut out the possibility of beefcake. Although "Nudes and Glamour" would be straight to the point.

And we have been beating this horse for about 2 1/2 years. So, why don't we just give it up alreaady.

The name of the board bothers you but not the content. You find the word "BOOBIES" offensive and degrading to women, but you don't find the miniatures offensive and degrading to women? So if we find a nice name for "boobies" which does not say that, then the exhibiting of these figures here, and indeed, their very existence are OK.

Personally I find the NAME trivial, and the subject ridiculous. I have a fine collection of Essex figures of curvaceous women in come-hither poses and sexy lingerie, and several Midnight Mascot scenes, (if you don't know about these-- good-- they are too vile for your innocent little mind to know about-- but what always amazes me is the female fighters with these huge swords and weapons with all of the absolutely most vulnerable parts of their anatomy completely exposed. Not only are these women likely to cause themselves significant damage should any of the armor and chainmail they are wearing kink and knot on tender areas on their body, I can't imagine coming close to them and running the danger of their armor doing the same to some of my more tender parts.

I really feel there is a disturbing and strange psycho-sexual neurosis going on here. The juxtaposition of violence and sex is disturbing in a way the Essex and Midnight mascot figures are not.

I'm not sure there is such a clean difference OSchmidt – perhaps it's you with the 'innocent little mind'. Nice condescension there by the way, on top of your clear ignorance (wilful?) of the points being made in preceding pages. Regardless of the 'chainmail bikini' argument, which is not what the discussion was about, I'm not sure why you should be too worried about these female figures with large weaponry, or perhaps you just feel that only male characters should stride around semi-clad, waving their ridiculously-excessive equipment about? I'd be wary of throwing around terms like psycho-sexual neurosis though.

Regardless, all your suggestions would simply reinforce the belief that contrary to the sub-heading, the board is purely for the female form. Maybe a less-juvenile title might actually encourage more discussion along the sub-heading's lines and I can't see why a simple name change is on a par with the sky falling on our heads.
