We are very pleased to release our latest codes for the 28mm Federal Army, the THOR Heavy Anti-Material Missilelauncher and the ODIN autocannon.
A mutli-purpose weapon, the ODIN autocannon fulfills much the same role as a heavy machine gun on 20-21st century battlefields. One of these can clear an entire field of enemy combatants.
The THOR heavy launcher is generally used to give the infantry of the Federal Army more firepower against armoured vehicles, mecha or huge creatures too powerful to be taken down with lesser weaponry.
We're also very pleased to finally have the 28mm Caiman Heavy APC back in stock after a five month absence. To all of you who have written to me about it (and hardly a day has gone by without my getting at least one such e-mail!), thank you for your patience, and please understand that no one is more relieved that I finally have these on hand than I am! The new heavy weapons, and all the other 28mm Federal Army pieces, are available now, at the link below. link |

I kinda meant the vehicles, your 15mm catalogue is full of fantastic vehicles
. go on.. you know you want to. |
| khurasanminiatures | 29 Nov 2013 10:38 p.m. PST |
They're vastly expensive to get going, and it takes forever to get them cast (which has me shying away from kickstarter as an option). |
| Lardie the Great | 30 Nov 2013 5:06 a.m. PST |
May cost more to get going, but have proven extremely popular. Howabout selecting 5 vehicles, you think would sell and do a quick poll here, then go from there or go with preorders and take a deposit(or in full). I understand the risk and investment, but this year you've brought out some very niche products (Russian mice) that look great but surely limited. Ultimately what I'm trying to say is, you have stuff in 15mm that I would donate body parts for in 28mm :) |

More infantry poses would be cool (not that the current ones are bad in any way) but I'd love to see "specialists" (engineers, medics, sensor tech guys, etc). It would round out a platoon or company nicely. |

. I understand the risk and investment, but this year you've brought out some very niche products (Russian mice) that look great but surely limited. The Rodent Civil Wars models really took off and are currently amongst my best sellers. But yes you're right, some things I've released have been very exotic, on the hopes that the curiosity value or obscurity of the line would be attractive. It's usually not and I end up losing my investment in its production. Then again, the praise and interest on the Internet does not translate into sales. The 15mm trolls I recently released drew a lot of interest and admiring comments on multiple forums. Sales since release? One pack. I'll bet if I'd Kickstarted them I'd have sold a thousand packs! I see some really indifferent sculpts selling hundreds of packs through that vehicle. It's sucking all of the air out of the room. For some reason the promise of a future thing is much more attractive that an actual finished product, shown so you can see exactly what it looks like. Well, if you can't beat em, join em! Guess I should do my own KS. |

It's frustrating on either side of the wire ;) but would a preorder (deposit/full payment)system be unworkable ? when the orders cover X percent of costs, start production, that way some of the risk is taken out? a sort of old school kickstarter without having to throw in freebies. |
| khurasanminiatures | 30 Nov 2013 11:28 a.m. PST |
Yes, that would be unworkable. That's one of the major obstacles to my doing a KS -- I don't want to take money for product I do not have on hand. Edit: Hmm, I don't know, maybe I can do something along those lines. Let me have a think about it

I like these though. And here's hoping they do you proud sales wise. I am looking at the 15mm stuff and keep going over it in my mind (what does it take for a push over to the dark side in Sci-fi and Fantasy 8-) anyway very nice stuff coming out of you company. Good luck |
| Lardie the Great | 01 Dec 2013 8:52 a.m. PST |
Zargon, don't do it stay with the righteous 28mm, it's a slippery slope..like crystal meth but without the media interest ;D |

I collect, paint and play both 15mm and 28mm Sci-Fi. I figure my time on this earth is short so I'd better enjoy it now! I really like the heavy weapons I must add them to my collection. I particularly like how I can buy both sizes from Khurasan. It's like one stop shopping at great prices. |
| Underfire Wargaming | 03 Dec 2013 8:04 a.m. PST |
Do a preorder system, like the idea of kickstarter, just on your own site and not having to pay kickstarter a certain percentage you make from it, so all that money goes straight to you and your products :)!. |
| Lardie the Great | 03 Dec 2013 10:41 a.m. PST |
Ordered some heavy weapon teams and I do like the checkout on Khurasan's site, no faffing with setting up accounts. Underfire, I'll be ordering some dog dudes when your site is fully up, fingers crossed for a Khurasan preorder kicked oldschool starter system (you can use that title concept, for free) in the near future

'Ordered some heavy weapon teams' – Me too. Also ordered some more regular troopers. 'Underfire, I'll be ordering some dog dudes when your site is fully up' – Again, me too. |

"Rodent civil wars" minis sell better than bad ass space warriors
if that doesn't sum up the peculiarities of hobby marketing I don't know what does ;). I think Kickstarters are the new internet hotness and people will throw $$ at them just for that
If they're making non-KS product launching more difficult that's a pity. Anyway this is a stellar 28mm line that makes me wish I had more time/space/money. |

Stuff arrived yesterday! (picked up at the depot today) awesome service and the weapons are really nice. Khurasan I've read on another forum about a 28mm tank and pricing, any chance of seeing a render/sketch? |
| khurasanminiatures | 23 Jan 2014 9:46 a.m. PST |
Aaaand the Caiman is out of stock again. :-( |
| Lardie the Great | 23 Jan 2014 10:29 a.m. PST |
See there is a market for quality 28mm models, so start prep on a Siler super heavy, just for me ;D |
| khurasanminiatures | 23 Jan 2014 11:20 a.m. PST |
Think I'd need someone to front the $2,000 USD print fee
any takers? |
| Mateus | 24 Jan 2014 3:01 a.m. PST |
Kickstarter is the way to go to take the 15mm tanks into 28mm scale. I'm keeping an eye for when those super heavies are available in that scale. |
| Mateus | 24 Jan 2014 7:09 a.m. PST |
With a kickstarter, you will only make the tanks if there is sufficient interest (i.e., funding) on them. Much better than doing at your own expenses and running the risk of, ultimately, not selling enough to cover your investment. |
| Lardie the Great | 24 Jan 2014 3:08 p.m. PST |
Wow really that much? it would be cool and a great insight if you did an article "from concept to production" I had no idea of how much it cost. |
| khurasanminiatures | 24 Jan 2014 5:42 p.m. PST |
Yeah, and the resin castings would probably cost me about $45 USD each. So if I charged $80 USD per kit, I'd need to sell about 60 of them just to break even. How much of a market is there for $80 USD superheavy tanks in 28mm scale? |
| dwartist | 25 Jan 2014 2:53 a.m. PST |
price wouldn't put me off. I'm in a very enviable position as i get to paint some of the pre-release castings and I can honestly testify to their quality. I'd have bought the Caiman, Polecat and Sabre (and any other 28mm) though, no problem. |
| Lardie the Great | 25 Jan 2014 11:08 a.m. PST |
I'd buy 4 even if it was a bit more than that price, firm order now, I've badgered you for ages now, so you just need another 56 orders. I'll pm you if you're willing. The Siler is a fantastic design. |

Looks at Games Workshop/Forgeworld superheavy tanks, apparently a big market ;-) If it's detailed enough you might even sell to the modeling crowd
|
| Lardie the Great | 27 Jan 2014 10:53 a.m. PST |
The 15mm tank is fantastic, standing on its own in could easily be taken for 28mm. As said I'd commit to this in a instant. |
| foggybottom | 03 Feb 2014 8:08 p.m. PST |
The price is not that high when compared with plastic model tanks and the quality is every bit as good. I bought the Caiman some time back and wished I had bought at least another one. The photography on the site is good and the vehicle itself looks even better. If the casting quality can be maintained, price should be no problem. I've never before bought a casting this massive that was every bit as true as the best injection molded models. |
| foggybottom | 03 Feb 2014 8:11 p.m. PST |
Just thinking about it's comparison with the old Armorcast 40K Titans and Baneblades. It's worlds more advanced. And no need to stand over a steaming pot of hot water to try to straighten the warped. |
| Lion in the Stars | 04 Feb 2014 9:23 a.m. PST |
Hey, K? what about a set of 28mm hatches for the existing Siler model? Just a thought. |

Then the turret, next month hul and tracks
.. ;D |
