I am planning on running this battle. I have Fleming's book and everything else I could gather. Anyone run this before, or have a scenario? I figured it is best to check, before reinventing the wheel. |

As it happens JdP, I am planning a Springfield game for two weeks time! It's a play test for a battle that will be in the next British Grenadier! scenario book. EC |

Wow, that is awesome!. I want to run it for Cold Wars. My guess is that the book won't be out by then. Any chance to get a sneak peak. |

Hurrah for Eclaireur! Saves me the hassle of looking at this one as it was on my "to do list". Better get painting more Hessians methinks. |

ANOTHER BG scenario book? Life is good. |

Yeah you got it JdP, based on previous experience the next scenario book will be out around 2020 ! I'll be interested to see how your game goes, if you post an AAR. All I would say to you about the way I've designed my own scenario is that it's more even than some of the accounts of the battle might suggest. Sorry, but it has to be said, a case of the usual Whig/Patriot exaggeration of what they were up against. Bruntonboy – sorry if you have a wait a few months for this and the others in Scenario Book4. I will soon start a TMP strand appealing for ideas about that last 2-3 battles that we might do, as I've got several taped but am interested in tapping in to what the market wants! EC |

From the maps I have, it looks like it would be quite a big table in 28mm. |

You might consider running two smaller, parellel tables each covering one of the main Crown Forces lines of advance. Separate commanders would add to the uncertainty of who was where and doing what. |

I have been thinking of doing just that. The two forces worked independently. |

JdP, well I played it out today with 'Orange' of the GdB forum. I will have to go a way further to even it out for the American side! We operated a system of keeping the American player (me) in the dark over which British brigades would cross which bridges. It's a nice sized battle> EC |

Eclaireur: which battle scenarios are already "in the can" so to speak. And are you trying to limit the scenarios to the northern half of the colonies or is any battle fair game? |

Here is a link to the Wikipedia description of the battle, for those readers who aren't familiar with it and want a brief overview: link |

Frederick, keep meaning to do a post that will answer your question! Six written or close to completion, but open to discussion on the remainder. I will post something in the next day or two

The group I game with did the scenario in 15mm using Wilderness Wars. We used two tables. If I recall correctly it took about two turns for units to "march" from one table to the other. It was quite challinging for the Crown forces. |
