Having searched the archives and found nothing related, I ask this question:

Currently in production, who makes the best dismounted 1812-1815 figure of Napoleon Bonaparte in 25mm or 28mm?

That Front Rank figure is nice, but the OP specified "dismounted."

I'm fond of the Foundry "Napoleon at Borodino" figure/ensemble, with his foot up on the drum.

Foundry figures are a bit small and dumpy… which is perfect for the middle-aged Napoleon.

Having just painted the Foundry set, I would say it is superb, bottom of page:

No photo, but painted the Elite Miniatures dismounted Napoleon and he looked the part. The Napoleon that comes with Warlord's Napoleon's Berlin Coach is very nice, too.

I would second the one with the Warlord coach. I have recently received it as a birthday present and it is a great miniatures.

Eureka has a beautiful Napoleon in 28mm

I wish the Foundry Napoleon was sold separately. I'd love to do that figure, sitting alone, with just four dismounted Chasseurs (the Perry ones) marking out his personal space.

The guy with his foot on the drum?

One of the first minis I painted and was happy with.

Jesus, I haven't looked at Foundry for ages since their prices started getting silly, but I hadn't realised HOW silly! £16.00 GBP for four 28mm cavalry figures?

Pyrate Captain26 Nov 2013 2:53 p.m. PST

Price is always a consideration.

Warlord Boney is great, but my budget is screaming Perry.

As I game Borodino first and foremost, then the Wargames Foundry figure mentioned above. Here's my own with some additional figures.

Lol
Brings back the memories.

I loved painting the adc in the hussar dress pointing aswell. Who was that chap one the far left? I could never remember who he was.

Lord Hill27 Nov 2013 9:26 a.m. PST

ColonelToffeApple that is a wonderful command piece!

Lord Hill, thank you, sits opposite this one:

I then have prints of the two paintings they are taken from on either side of the table.
