Hi all

Andrew my sculptor mentioned to me he was a little delayed (a few days) on finishing the BTR160. I now know why…….

A marvelous looking set of extras! I'm really, very very pleased with this list of items! Hoping they go to print in the next day or two! Again big thanks Andrew!

That is just freakin cool! Only change I would make is to the side of the ambulance -- get rid of the 4 armor plates/widgets/whatever they are (on the sides just behind the door) to give a nice flat surface for a large red cross marking.

Stunning! I think this just jumped to the top of my list for favorite 8-wheeled transport! Hope to see it soon.

That is superb!

Noooo! These are too nice – please tell me you can't release them until next year?

Seriously hugely inspired designs there.

Wow, so… uh, that's pretty awesome!

What a selection!

LoudNinjaGames25 Nov 2013 9:01 a.m. PST

Suuuuure way to raise the bar there!

A great way to expand on a design.

Nice. Especially the fact that we're looking at a complete AFV family of vehicles, allowing one to build a coherently equipped low to mid tech human brigade…evil grin

Still liking this. Slammers forces (more specificlly their opponents) have a big need for 8 wheeled AFVs of this kind.

Rock on…

Stonkin'! particularly like the drone carrier – great idea!

note to self -- no near future modern vehicles for micropanzer -- there are so many out there that are all good --

Just goes to show that if you have some talent you can make great looking vehicles without having to steal other peoples designs…

Thank you all for your kind comments about my designs.

About 18/24 months ago, Keith at Armies Army and I had an exchange of emails regarding using MoI3D for modelling sci-fi/future wars type vehicles. One of the things he mentioned was that he really liked the old Soviet BTR-60 design, and if I ever felt like doing a futuristic version of one, he'd look forward to seeing it.

After a house move, and subsequent renovations, 3D modelling has been vey low on my list of priorities until recently, when I remembered Keith's suggestion. For the fun of it, I created a first version and sent it to him, with an apology for the delay of course!. Getting good feedback from him I then finalised the drone launcher version.

When he asked me just over a week ago for a couple of minor changes to the chassis to ease his method of moulding, I got a little sidetracked… One variant turned into TEN, with two trailers!

I'm glad he's got some ideas for even more weapon systems, and based on his 15mm figures, I expect he might even do some excellent crew for them (especially as the "mickey mouse" ear hatches easily mount open or closed – thanks Agent Smith, hadn't spotted that until you mentioned it LoL).

As for Sloppypainter's comment on removing the armoured external cooling circuit covers (yes that's what they are!), I'm glad he mentioned it. I hadn't included it in the render, but I did think a red cross/crescent or whatever, could be computer printed and then stuck across them, bit like a advertising board. Similarly the other vehicles could have a placard on each side with unit/army logos – no need for buying transfers if you want to personalize them?

I do this entirely for fun, passing all the copyright and ownership of the designs to Keith for free. 3D design work is a good relaxation for me. Not doing it commercially means I'm not tied by deadlines, fortunately!

I have some other projects planned, some of which may well be heading to Keith, as well as others going elsewhere, and I just hope it won't be so long until the next ones come to fruition. I can't promise frequent updates, but progress will appear on my website in due course.

The best request for a minor change I'll likely ever make!

I think I'm excited to use these on the table as everyone else! It will give my Rusk forces and militia a very good chance of turning my own campaign game around! The Rusks have taken a beating of late against the commonwealth forces. No more me thinks!

Top work Andrew!

Thanks

Keith

Fantastic designs Mr.Burton and Keith both, keep up the great work.

Twoball Cane26 Nov 2013 6:42 a.m. PST

That's the swiss army knife of ifv/apc's

I like the drone carrier the most…is it removeable?

Armiesarmy26 Nov 2013 7:58 a.m. PST

It is indeed Twoball

You can angle the launcher with or without the drone

cheers

Keith

Lovely looking vehicles are these going to be just released or will it be a kickstarter?

CorSecEng26 Nov 2013 10:27 p.m. PST

Got to love the engineering vehicle. We need more of those!

Armiesarmy27 Nov 2013 6:37 a.m. PST

Im working on that!

Engineering vehicles and accessories look great I wish other manufacturers gave their vehicles the same treatment.
