Decided to paint some packs of Old Glory 15mm Jacobites and Government troops that have been lingering in my closet for years. Experimented with a new (for me) technique discussed in more depth on my blog: link

i see you're planning to use Maurice. will you be altering any of the rules?

Nice job.
Agree with you about these OGS. I have British and Hanoverian for SYW and they look pretty good. I used a brown undercoat technique for mine, using diluted reds over this gives a bit of shading, but I like the idea of the tan/ink technique. My only problem with them is the little bases and getting them to stand up long enough for glue to set them to bases! I am also less keen on the cavalry, as they seem to be a different scale-probably "real" 15 mm, whereas infantry are closer to 18mm- I find the infantry match my Eurekas and Blue Moons quite well, whereas cavalry are closer to the Essex infantry.

Not sure if I will tweak anything with Maurice. I play it quite a bit for the War of Spanish Succession, but have yet to see how the Highlanders play with the rules. Any suggestions?

There was some discussion of this on Sam Mustasfa's forum which ended up with the suggestion of conscript regular Highlanders fighting with en Masse and a la Bayonette versus conscript regular Government troops with Lethal Volleys.

I changed to a similar painting technique a few years ago – undercoat black, drybrush all over in tan, paint flesh and then sepia ink all over.

Somebody should make transfers for grenadiers' mitres.

Impressive work.

I noticed OG's trusty mounted British Officer with cloak.

Tip:
If you are handy with Milliput, convert the tricorne to a bonnet, add a plume and you have a Jacobite leader.

Robert: Great figs yourself and awesome idea on that mounted commander! There is a second mounted commander in the bag and I will use him just for that purpose
