Just investigating at the moment. Any ideas who has good range of Western and Russian 20mm models? Particularly German, British and of course soviet |

Andy has a couple of good sources: coldwargamer.blogspot.co.uk Of course the Guild has plenty of stuff: link My photobucket: link

[/URL] Grubby (Britannia) and Elheim do plenty of little chaps including Tin lid and SLR British. S & S has a very good range, don't forget some of the Airfix stuff – CVR(T), Saracen and Saladin for 70s, and die cast stuff – Chieftain by Atalya from the magazines. Tally Ho! |

Some great ideas here. So what rules do you use? My preference is for fairly simple fun but elegant rules Days of being able to cope with challenger 2000 or ASL are years behind me :) |

The Guild use a variant of Rapid Fire as do but I have been messing around with them to work at 1:1, I may have a go at modifying Battle Group Kursk. At 1:300 I will use "Contact" a hash of the Canadian Army training system.

A huge thumbs up from me for the Elheim 20mm Brit figures – they are really well done – lovely sculpts. Their Russkis are the best out there too
I've not yet found an equally good source of wargaming vehicle models though

Some useful stuff here too, resin, kits and die casts. Currently S&S are the only producers of the T-64, there are expensive die casts from Ukraine/Russia but at about £20.00 GBP including P&P one could get 3 from S&S! Tally Ho! |

S&S look very interesting though they seem to be missing some obvious models such as the chieftain and the leopard 1? Are these available in die cast anywhere, or resin/Metal? |

Chieftain and fv432's link |

Britannia/Grubby do a resin Chieftain, some die cast crop up on ebay or the Airfix Chieftain all ok for 70's prior to IFCS, Leopard 1 in die cast appears on ebay now and again. Otherwise Airfix or Esci kits. Tally Ho! |

hi cpt kremmen we do have gaps mainly because when we started making these models you could easily get airfix chieftains and leo 1's, and also there are plenty of diecast altaya cheiftains and leo's out there now so not really worth us doing them. we do however make a lot of the other afv's and support vehicles especially for the british army in the cold war. we do have a lot more to release, but if you fancy any on the link below we may be able to supply before official release:- link we also have about 20 different land rovers out soon! sandsmodelsshop.com thanks shaun |

Gaz, Thanks for that I had no idea Britannia did 20mm cold war models. Their chieftain does look gorgeous :) S and S – yes I see it does seem silly to try and compete with a nice diecast model. I hadn't thought of that. Ta Andy |

you are quite a landrover enthusiast Shaun aren't you. I prefer things with bigger guns (just compensating) :) |

actualy i am not a great land rover fan, i prefere more reliable vehicles, but you can't do cold war gb without lots of land rovers! thanks shaun |
