I have been having problems posting messages today – I hope my old laptop isn't about to die on me! Here's an attempt before it does:

A very nice report Caliban! Think I will have to add this battle to the list (which seems to keep growing) of historical engagements to re-fight on my tabletop.

Nothing against the sets (yes, that's right, I typed sets – plural) of rules that I currently own, but I am intrigued by what I have seen and read about Tactica II. Where might one find a copy?

Thanks again for posting. Table looked very nice. Hope you will post something about the games and results of the Armati tourney.

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris, Tactica II has been playtested and is awaiting publication – it's really up to Arty Conliffe to give the go-ahead…I lucked out, happening upon one of the playtest groups. I'd say that it retains the feel of the original Tactica. It keeps some of the battlefield limitations, but widens the appeal by having a more fluid command structure and much more choice in army lists and unit builds. There's a lot of folks agitating for it to be published!

Great to see the report, Paul … I had missed the game by the time I got to Glasgow (cars and Fridays sometimes don't mix that well) and the only reports I got from the other players
were, shall we say, a little worse for wear … wink

Cheers, Phil. Hope to see you tomorrow regardless…does that mean the other players were at less than optimum for the tourney!?

Arty said they'd be ready by April last year. There original title was Tactica 2000. I think Arty is one of the most creative authors ever. However, I'm not holding my breath these will ever be published.
