We have about 7 boxes of old issues of MW, WI and WSS at club. Some are dated in the 90s, others are more recent. I figure they are worthless but will have them on sale at Smoggycon to test the theory. Assuming the worst, does anyone have any suggestions for them other than the bin? |

Offer them to university clubs or libraries

Donate them to your local library? It was Donald Featherstone and Charles Grants books which inspired me to take up wargaming but I haven't seen a wargames book in a library for many years. Maybe the magazines might inspire new gamers. |

A few years ago I found that I couldn't give them away – not even to 2nd hand traders – at the same time I was buying back copies for 50p a time at convention rummage boxes. Weird. Now they turn up on Ebay at £5.00 GBP a pop – someone must buy them I guess. Pulping them will increase the scarcity – so someone else who hangs onto their copies for another 10 years should see the benefit! |

I tried to give away over 400 of them a couple of years ago, including very early numbers (e.g. MW number 1 – 10). No takers except for some one who wanted a series of East Africa articles. I needed the space so I skipped the lot. Ho hum – don't miss them – we move on. |

I have taken boxes of old magazines to cons and put a "free" sign on them; they have always disappeared. |

Tuborg Qeeen Im trying to collect old wargame magazines, not for resale but as an archive. I have this project of collecting all old wargame sources, books, manuscripts and magazines I can lay my hands on for simply the preservation of the legacy of the hobby. I'll take them and pay the shipping if you are amenable. if you want a price for them over that, work one up and we will negotiate. I am especially interested in stuff that never gets published. Like if a gamer dies, getting hold of his "papers with all his projects, notes, battle reports, things like that to keep and preserve. Catalog, and work up into some sort of systematic archive. The non-published stuff is especially worthwhile as it is almost pure content, and relaly good stuff at that. Most of the English Magazines have almost no worthwhile content and are simply pretty pictures. |

Well, if I ever want to get rid of mine (MW from around 100 to 300+) I will probably just bring them down to my FLGS and ask for permission to leave them at the counter to be given away for free, or to be given away as door gifts at their annual convention. |

I gave all my old magazines to a local charity shop. |

I have a ton as well and need room so I have begun to go through them, pull out the things I am interested in and put in a binder. Saved a bunch of room, good reference material, and what is left is recycled. |

I 'filleted' my collection- saving just the articles that were of interest, I remember a mate told a former editor of one of the larger mags who was horrified that I chopped up his publication
.stopped the subs now, sign of the times financially
.and the repetition of subject matter! |
