Except that myhermes doesn't actually accept paint – it is in their terms and conditions…

I was just about to post the same thing, but Mike beat me to it!

I tend to order 10 or 12 pots at a time (Vallejo)and now have to use 'hermes' as an alternative courier and its expensive, last lot was £5.75 GBP GBP for next day delivery.

I believe it's because MyHermes use Royal Mail at some stages of their deliveries, so are held to the same restrictions as RM.

Well that is news to me! All I can say is that my supplier offers hermes as an alternative and I have used the service for paint delivery!

From my suppliers site:
"Please ensure that if your order contains more than 4 bottles of paint, or any of them are over 150ml, you select a non Royal Mail method of delivery. If you don't, it will delay your order as we contact you to cancel the order or ask for payment for the alternative delivery method.

The delivery methods we suggest are: Interlink Express for mainland England, Wales & lowland Scotland, MyHermes for Scottish Highlands and islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight etc., and DPD Classic for EU destinations. We are still working on findig a cost effective method for other international deliveries !

We have made what changes we can to our postage methods to reflect this (including subsidising Interlink and MyHermes delivery costs and setting up & subsidising a new band for smaller orders), but it is going to take some time for Big Commerce, our web hosts, to come up with a way to enable or disable shipping methods at a product level. It might also take us a couple of days to add appropriate notes to the products affected."

Actually what I have just noticed reading that back is that I'm in the South of the UK and hermes are recommended for the North, how odd.

I guess I best use interlink next batch. All in all it's still pain in the arse.

Cheers,
Lee.

Erm…. I think I know who that is and Interlink and DPD don't handle paint either!

Parcelforce are the only couriers I have found who will happily take paint.

So the problem is worse than I thought! Must be hitting business hard? I have never known a paint pot to leak in the post ever, and as was said earlier if sealed in an outer bag and taped there can surely be no problem?

I have to place an order next week so I'll double check re postage options …. I expect it will be expensive anyway.

Cheers,
Lee.
