Can I get some feedback on this please?

I had an idea for an App (a resource for dealing with anxiety), but have no idea how to turn it into an app.

This looked interesting to me, but I have no idea if there are better programs available. With the comments I got about the Kindle publishing prog, I thought you guys might be able to let me know whether this is useful, or if there is already something available.

It claims to extend MIT App Inventor:
appinventor.mit.edu

Have you looked at that?

Otherwise this particular KS looks kind of sketchy. The risks section is pretty weak and the rewards don't seem well defined- they seem to consist of access to a forum and maybe early access to code that will be open-sourced anyway. If this funds I predict a big blob of code that will probably be as hard to use as coding up an app from scratch anyway, assuming they ship anything at all.

Such designers usually come with a whole lot of constraints. If you fit in their constraints, they can potentially be ok. They tend to be very limited though. You can do X, but X + .00001 may be completely beyond them.

In a mobile environment, quality of the designer/toolkit is a pretty big concern. A sloppy toolkit can result in battery draining apps among other concerns. So, not having anything in hand is a bit of a risk in my mind. This is also a type of tool that many people have tried their hands at in the history of computing, gotten to a so-so result and could not move it past that point.

I suggest giving this program a look. (look under the basic/pro/enterprise buttons for the free version).

You can release paid apps even with the free version if you are a small enough operation, it uses LUA scripting and seems like a decent solution. I was toying with it but have not done any serious work yet.
