I've started building a second EIR army, assembled from Perry minis bought relatively cheaply on eBay. There's more about it on my Blog at:- link Cheers, Simon PS It is my fifth Blogiversary! |

Great work, Simon. You can just feel the barbarians bearing down. |
BigRedBat | 11 Nov 2013 8:17 a.m. PST |
Thanks chaps! Aaron, I suppose I'm going to need to do barbarians, too, to fight them. :-( |

Hi Mike, one day
they are lovely minis. I had an army once, but sold it. These are better! Cheers, Simon |

VERY nice!! I went to the Perry site to drool--where is this range? Or are these Foundry? |
BigRedBat | 11 Nov 2013 10:13 a.m. PST |
Sorry EG, they are the Foundry Perry range (as opposed to the Foundry Saleh's in my main collection), from when the Perrys worked there. |

Nice. One cohort = one base? |
BigRedBat | 11 Nov 2013 1:52 p.m. PST |
Hmm, not sure. Probably 2 to a cohort, knowing me. ;-) I think they are pretty scale independant, though, could even be used to represent centuries. Cheers Simon |

In reference to the posted photo, who is the figure in the back row with the red crested helmet, an officer maybe? I assume the figure in the center front row is a centurion. I've seen helmet crests painted "red" and sometimes "white"; what does the color signify? Thanks. |

Exellent presentation. Mud on shields and whole unit it looks very life like. |
BigRedBat | 11 Nov 2013 3:46 p.m. PST |
Hi USAF, I don't think very much is known about centurion plume colours, but re-enactors, who research a good deal, use red or white died horsehair, or sometimes feathers. The colour may have been significant or a matter of personal taste. The chap at the back is supposed to be an Optio, 2iC of a century. Sometimes these carried a staff, but he has a pila.
