Been at it again
amazon' what one can do with a trio of plastic toy robots for under $10 USD USD for the three of 'em, some spare bits and a bit of paint: blackwidowpilot.blogspot.com
As the bots are essentially scale neutral, they can work as 15mm mechs, or 28mm large bot's or light mechs with equal utility (just choose your parts wisely). evil grin

Those are brilliant. I will have to haunt my local CVS. |

Thanks! The weapons as I mentioned in the first blog entry are now hard plastic, so converting these 'bots into something really gamer friendly is now extremely easy

Oh, man, these are great. I would have looked right past those at a store, but now I'll keep an eye open for them. I'm always on the lookout for 28mm mecha! Could you do a table level pic of them with 28mm figure to really show the size comparison? |

Bass, I'll see if I can add a pic with a ruler to give you what you need. I wish to Hell these had been available back in my Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader days when Imperial Robots were canon (and DIY). Somewhere around here I've got a small metal ball and chain that would be just perfect for creating an analogue to the classic illustration in the WH40KRT rulebook section on robot design

ODB, Looking spiffy as always. Aint it amazing what ya can do with the leftover's from the dinner table? The robots in the new post. Is this a second set or the ones you posted before in a more complete paint job? I really got to get over to LEGO land. Still just dont get any love at Tuesday Morning. :-( Don't forget to update questions form the last 'madness" post here on TMP. Grimm |

YDB, also try T.J. Maxx, Marshall's, and Big Lots. All three get all sorts of things, and no two stores are stocked exactly alike
you've got to *hunt* to find what you need

ODB, No time to be hunting. Remember we all aint been around since the dawn of time like you. We are still got to slave to the grindstone and report to the man for work. I got a con to attend this weekend. Wondering what i will hunt up over the weekend. Grimm |

I picked some of these up last time I was in Canada and made the mistake of priming them with enamel. But they are vinyl! Great! So now I have eternally sticky robots. Oh well, I'll get some more when I go back this month. |
BlackWidowPilot | 12 Nov 2013 12:21 a.m. PST |
Roe, I just primed mine with plain ole' Krylon flat black spray paint; no sticky bots resulted. These may very well be moulded in an actual plastic that's war gamer friendly rather than vinyl
Next batch will be to indulge my nostalgia for WH40KRT, so it'll be 28mm Imperial Robots armed and finished accordingly
Now where did I put that big metal ball and chain
